Fresh and welcoming with a unique design in an enviable location

Located within a restored historic building, expect a cool, cosmopolitan atmosphere at the Pulitzer Barcelona Hotel. Designed to not look or feel like a normal hotel environment, the Pulitzer Barcelona's design elements, such as the reception desk made from a baroque style Sicilian altar, and the oversized floral arrangements create a unique hotel experience. Rich colors of woods and leathers combine to create a welcoming and comfortable space. The restaurant serves high quality Mediterranean dishes. It has the benefit of a glazed roof and the interior garden, which offer a peaceful haven for al fresco meals in warmer weather.

3 Reasons To Stay:
  • City center location, barely minutes from famous tourist spots such as Las Ramblas, the Barri Gotic and Paseo de Gracia

  • Glass roofed Mediterranean style restaurant opening onto interior garden, for lunch or dinner in the spring and summer

  • Unusual, fresh design with unique historical features and cosmopolitan touches

Great location

A block away from Plaça de Catalunya, the center of Barcelona. Yet street is not too noisy. Not a great view from room, but I only spent nights there. Small but stylish and comfortable. Easy to miss hotel. Look for large blue Hotel Regina sign. Hotel Regina is adjacent to Hotel Pulitzer and run by the same company.

Nice Hotel, Great Location, Not Sure Its Luxury

This hotel was nice and a good value, but it was not a hotel I'd be dying to visit again. There is a central atrium around which all the rooms/floors are organized. We were given a room near this area and could hear dishes being unloaded from the dishwasher until late in the evening. Also, we could hear conversations from those going to and from the elevator. There is no pool or gym onsite, but the hotel does allow you to use a very nice gym about 4 blocks away. The rooftop bar looks great, but is only open in the summer. Overall, I would say this is a nice place, but a luxury hotel. It was a decent value and in a very central location. They didn't refresh toiletries, there was no coffee maker in the room, our room had no minibar (yet there was a setup for it.) The staff was helpful, but don't expect to be staying somewhere that provides every comfort. The hotel has a modern/cool vibe, but this wasn't enough to make up for its short comings to me.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the blue airport bus to plaza catalunyia for 5 euro and walk to the hotel. It comes often and is about a 20-30 minute ride to the airport.

Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona

Overall, decent value for the money with comfortable accommodations and acceptable service. Small but stylish rooms. Great rooftop bar. No pool or gym. Biggest turnoff was two cockroach sightings during our 4 night stay (mgr responding by discounting one night). Various details make it clear that hotel is positioned in mid-range rather than luxury category--aforementioned insect sightings, competent but unexceptional service, shower temperature affected by sink/toilet usage, thermostat floor at 5 deg C (even in summer), failure to replace bathroom toiletries daily, etc. Convenient location near Plaza Cataluna metro stop, but would recommend more upscale-oriented travelers stay further north in Eixample area (away from dirty, rowdy, overcrowded scene in Las Ramblas just south of hotel). La Ribera and Gothic quarter are also much more charming areas.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Beware and plan accordingly for shorter and more variable museum hours than US and most of western Europe
