A charming new hotel in Barcelona, located next to the emblematic Montjuïc Gardens. Formerly a palace, the hotel has been carefully restored to create an elegantlyfurbished hotel that will make your stay a unique and unforgettable experience. The palace was built between 1927 and 1928 by the architect Ramón Raventós, and opened by King Alfonso XIII in 1929 to celebrate the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona. The landscaped area surrounding the hotel and most of Montjuic, that was laid out by Forestier for the Exhibition, contains species of vegetation, flowers and trees that are mostly Mediterranean in origin.
In 1929 Miramar was turned into a restaurant, and hosted a countless number of elegant banquets up until 1959, when TVE, Televisión Española (the Spanish Television), started broadcasting from Catalonia, and set up its headquarters here.
In 1983 the television studios moved to Sant Cugat and, inexplicably, the building fell into a state of neglect. Over the last three years this emblematic landmark has been rehabilitated, and converted into a luxury hotel that, thanks to its stunning location, dominates Barcelona.

Great Barcelona Hotel

We loved our stay at the Miramar in Barcelona and wished we were going to be there more than 2 days. The staff was very courteous, polite and readily available to assist. The view of the city from its lofty perch is stunning, yet it is an easy 15 minute walk to the port and start of Las Ramblas. I'm used to small Europeand hotel rooms - not the Miramar. The bedroom and bathrooms were big, and our rooms had a patio that was 20x20. The spa facilities were nice. The outdoor pool looked inviting, but it was too cool so we took advantage of the indoor pool. The morning continental buffet was a bit pricey at $25 Euros per person, but the selection was very good. Bacelona and the Miramar are definitely on the list for a revisit.

Right next to the Miramar is a cable car that takes you across the port to the beach for $10 euros per person. Amazing views!

Excellent Staff

The staff went far above and beyond to assist my husband in locating his luggage Delta airlines lost. They spent hours on the phone for him speaking several different languages we didn't speak to track it down. I was also very impressed by the beauty of the hotel and location. It was in the middle of the botanical gardens in Barcelona on a hillside. Easy 10-15 minute walk to town. I would highly recommend this hotel for all of these reasons!

beautiful hotel

We had a beautiful, spacious hotel room with a balcony overlooking the city and the harbor. The beds were very comfortable with crisp, clean sheets. The room was sparkling clean. the bathroom had two sinks and a separate shower and tub. The hotel is located on a hill above the city. The staff was friendly and helpful.
