Perfect location and helpful staff!
The hotel was in a great location as we could walk to all the main areas. The rooms were small but very clean---comfy beds but foam pillows. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. No charge when using a phone card from the room--a plus since the hotel didn't have free WiFi available for using Skype on our iPod. We had stayed at 2 other hotels and 4 paradors before landing in Barcelona and all had free WiFi. This hotel does have a computer which guests can use for one hour for free. We thought it would be a total of one hour over our 3-night stay but it really meant you could use the computer for free ONCE then you'd have to pay. Although the hotel is on a side street it was very noisy at night from steet sounds. I would never consider it a boutique hotel!

Good for the price
The hotel is located close to the metro and bus service. It is located close to Gothic area and within walking distance of the cathedral and other historical attractions. You can take the bus to the beach which is important given there is no pool at the hotel. This is not a good place to stay if you are traveling with children.

Great location in central Barcelona
This was my wife and I first trip to Barcelona, so booking on the Internet is risky; but I must say this hotel was perfect for our one week stay. Located within a five minute walk from Catalanya Plaza Aerobus drop off. Aerobus is the way to go for transport to/from the airport for $5.00 one way. The Viena eatery is right next door to the hotel; good prices and good food. Also, Bocatta is inexpensive on the Ramblas and we always sat upstairs on the 3rd level by the window seats and people watch; nice and quiet. Our only issue was street noise since we were right above the sidewalk; next time I would ask for in inside room without street noise. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Barcelona.

BEWARE of pick pockets on the Met. I wore a small fanny pack on my front, thinking that would be safe...NOT...I got onto the met and a woman blocked me in by the entry door; when I tried to go around her, she blocked me again and that was my first sign something was not right. Next thing I felt her fingers in my fanny pouch RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME...so I immediately pushed her away and shouted Hey! Fortunately, she did not get my wallet and a woman sitting across the aisle saw what happened and asked "Do you have everything?" I answered yes and just stared at the pick pocket until the next stop and got quickly off with my wife and double checked all my belongings. I did not ride the Met again after that experience; we walked everywhere. Talk about being brazen? Other than that close call, we loved Barcelona, but it is only worth a three day visit to see the major sights. We did day trips to Montserat and Sitjes (not much to see here, but if you just want to sit and stroll around) to fill out the week. Happy and safe travels!

Just O.K. for the price.
Tried to upgrade $10. euro per night to get into romm earlier. No Breakfast was included so they wanted another $25 euros per night. Room O.K. Breakfast buffet just O.K. Staff nice. Locations excellent to center of downtown. **Free one hour of internet. Get password from front desk. They will ask for a cell phone number but don't use it, just have them suply their password

Short walk from hotel
Tapas dining can run the bill up. Try the main couses instead. Lots of small places to eat. Get tickets at the Hotel for the Bus to take you around the city to all the sites. Two day pass was enough to see everything. You can go on and off the bus all day!! Senior rates discounted on bus and most attractions.

Staying in Style
We were offered early check-in with a room upgrade for 10 euros per night. The staff was very attentive and helpful -- one of the receptionists called a few restaurants to inquire about reservations for us, and another took our postcards to mail. The rooms were quiet, clean and cozy with a great view of the street. We loved the location, which was very close to shopping, dining and transportation, and it was just a short walk to the beach. Great value!

Complete Satisfaction
On our first trip to Barcelona we wanted to be close to Catalunya Square, the Ramplas & the Gothic Quarter. This hotel is close enough without the noise and the crowds. Were able to walk to excellent restaurants. Staff was very helpful, both generally, & specifically in allowing us to check bags for the day when we returned from cruise before we continued to the airport.
