excellent value for money.

Having read some past reviews of this hotel I was not expecting very much. However I was very pleasantly surprised. Our room was basic but clean and refreshed daily. Including toiletries etc. The beds were comfortable and clean. I did take a kettle as there are no drink making facilities but this was clearly stated. Staff were helpful and stored our luggage free of charge as we had late flights. The breakfast was more than adequate considering the budget price we paid for the hotel. Most others didn't include breakfast. There was tinned fruit, juice, cerial, toast, Croissant's, yogurt, butter/jam, bread, cold meats, cheese, scrambled egg, baccon, sausage and hot drinks. There was no restriction on how much you had. Some guests could have done with being restricted as they took too much and left it! The hotels location was perfect. We walked to almost all sites we wanted to see. Airport bus was not too far a walk either. The hotel was off the main roads so our room was above an alley so it was quiet. We were on 5th floor however. Mostly heard locals and children playing in the square. Nice reasonably priced restaurant's/cafe's on the doorstep. Little balcony but don't expect lovely views as buildings on all sides quite close. Plenty of views once away from the hotel. The walls a bit thin but was not overly bothered by others noise. No more than many other places I have stayed. Came with very few expectations and left without any disappointments. Would come again without hesitation. No idea if things would be different at height of season.

Buy tickets for the city tour busses. Great way to see everything. Can then go back to the places you liked most to spend extra time. Be prepared to queue at bus stops.

Basic hotel

Basic hotel, you get exactly what you pay for...will recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap budget hotel. only about 5-10 minutes walk to Las Ramblas. a metro station near by. close to local amenities...friendly staff all willing to help and speak perfect english. they were our map! on the negative side due to its central location it can get noisy at night...no tea/coffee facility in room. not the best breakfast selection too. was dissapointed to find no fruits on the menu.

Hotel Ronda

Staff were polite and helpful, we were welcomed. The floor we were placed on was at the top of the building so it was nice and quiet. 1 small window in the room which didn't afford much ventilation. Could have done with a kettle etc to make a hot drink, but nothing there. Otherwise, close to the city centre, next door to the market, located in a somewhat 'red light' area, especially after the sun went down. Average, but not miserable.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are going out for the day and want to eat a picnic lunch, go to the market next door to the hotel and buy packaged local delicacies- we got pasta bolognese, lentil stew, fish stew, chick peas with spinach, and buy a french stick. Delicious, and a fraction of the price of the cafes and restaurants. The ladies in the market stall are lovely too, and they were kind to my 6 year old daughter, gav her sweeties and helped her to ask for the food in the local lingo.

Worse hotel ever

I just left Hotel Ronda in Barcelona, DO NOT USE IT. The hotel has many problems: Worse location in a are fill with alcoholice, drug addicts and dealers, hoteles. Very unsafe at night. Very difficult to access by car, almost impossible. Parking lot in a basement, very narrow barely can fit the car thru the doors, I scrach mine twice. Dark and steep exit. No elevador from parking to lobby. Rooms very old, no luxury at all. the cheapest soap, tissue, towells. In general nothing good about it. Staff is ok but they can't overcome poor working conditions and lack of condition to work

The worse hotel ever. DO NOT USE IT

I just left Barcelona and this is the worse hotel I ever used. DO NOT USE. I am going to decribe some details: Location: No accesible by car at least you literally cross a plaza betwen tables. Parking in the basement very steep, dark, the parking lot doesn't have access to the lobby, be ready to carry all your luggage. At night very dangerous, close to Las Ramblas but sourronded by alcoholics, drug consumers and dealers and homeless. Inside: No luxury at all, the cheapest soap, tissue, towells and shampoo. Small beds, poor light, very noicy. No refrigerador available in the room. No ice machine. Everything is very old. Charges: too expensive for what you get, the hotel barely make 1 star and they charge you for 3-4 stars. Parking not included( despite is almost imposible to use it) WiFi not included( despite is slow at sometimes not available). People are friendly but what they can do if they dont have the resources to give a good service

Does the job, but could be a lot better

The hotel is well located, neear the metro station and close to the Center of Barcelona. The staff is gentle but as it is a budget holtel, no one really offers you help. The room is very basic, the hair drier was broaken and we were required you to use a second elevator as the main one only goes to the 6th. (Front desk didn´t tell us that). In the area and for that price, it was the best option we found that was willing to provice a room for 3 people. It was a god choice for our 1 night stay in a last minute need, but you can get better service and maybe better prices at many Ibis hotels.

Wrong name for wrong place

The best part of this hotel was it was right around the corner from St Antoni metro station, making transportation around the city cheap. The hotel's name is spelled wrong on the internet 'Rhonda' but is real life it is 'Ronda', which made it hard to locate the hotel. It seemed like it was in a bad part of town...dirty and grungy. It was extremely loud too, could hear everything going on inside the hotel (people walking, showers running, toliets flushing) and everything going on outside (metal clashing together). The room was extremely cold, even with the heater turned all the way up.

The Flemenco dancing at Cordobes on Rambles street was terrible. The seats were cramped together and the singing was terrible.

Read this before you book!

This small hotel is located in a slum area of city and directly across from park where thugs hangout and watch as guest come in and out of hotel. No police around and all kinds of people are around who appear to be up to no good. The worst part is that you have to walk through the park to leave the area and it is unsafe. You feel like an innocent animal about to get devoured by the hungry lion. Hotel room is falling apart and needs major updating. I would HIGHLY suggest paying 20/30 euros more to stay in a safer and cleaner hotel if you value a peace of mind and your safety over being targeted as tourist prey..
