Beautiful vacation

The location of this hotel and the access to internet service in the room were the only things I liked about thie hotel. The room needs a lot of improvement ! The furnitures were falling apart and the room wasn't even cleaned everyday. During the six days of staty, the bedsheets were never changed. If you want to sleep at night, this hotel is not for you. I wasn't able to sleep till 3 in the morning because of noises from outside. Make sure to bring your own garbage bags with you becuase there is not a garbage can in the bathroom.

This is not a four star hotel

The concept of the hotel is good, the location is good and having the garden was useful but that is where the good things about this hotel stop. My stay initially started in the annex and having a balcony all seemed a good idea. I was kept awake all night - noise from both sides by the neighbours enjoying the comfort of the balcony. The customer service is poor and please do not complain about anything as the staff try their very best to make your stay even worse. I would rate my stay as my worse even overseas experience. I have always been open minded about reviews but please do not ignore this and other reviews on this hotel. It is such a pity as if only management can address the complaints posted on the review – this hotel will be ideal for families and 1st time visitors to Barcelona.

Excellent location in Barcelona

First of all the location of this Hotel is excellent, we were at few steps from the Ramblas, a very bussy street in Barcelona, however no disturbance to us when we wanted to rest, it was nice to have the option to have everything you need at walking distance. We were able to take a tour bus and go sightseeing as well as walk to the beach and swim in the Mediterranean ocean. We had a great time. The first impresion of the Hotel is not that great, it's clean but it could be better, it's an old building with moderm decor. The staff were helpful when we needed them.

Not recommended

This hotel have no customer service. The beds are hard as a rock and sheets and towel are dirty. I do not recommend this to anyone. You are better off booking a room near the big square near Mandarin Oriental. Much cheaper and less traffic. My friend stayed at BCN Design and it was super nice for a lot less.

Should be renamed to Hostel Le P o o p

Payed for 4 star hotel but got a Hostel instead! Service was terrible from the moment we tried to check-in. Went on Cruise and stayed there with 6 other couples for three days. There were probably 20 other guests waiting in the lobby trying to get rooms while only 2 people were "working" the desk. Rooms weren't ready and the response was call your travel agent if you want to cancel. The lobby ceiling was leaking right by the reception area so you had to be careful otherwise you got splashed. Rooms varied in cleanliness, ours was ok, but our friends complained about bugs, dirty sheets, smelly towels, leaking ceiling, and I kid you not 1 room had blood all over the walls in bathroom. We actually put up a do not disturb sign on our door the entire time b/c we were worried they would give us dirty towels or sheets. Very noisy, you can hear people yelling in the alley and slamming doors all night. Hallways are really dark and creepy since walls are black and lights are motion sensored with very low wattage bulbs which have a 2 second delay before coming on. So if you leave your room it's pitch black and even after the hallway lights come on vision is 40ft at best. Elevator was slow and forget about taking the stairs as that is where they keep their cleaning carts, talk about fire hazard. Only thing it had going for it was location but staying on Las Ramblas is way over-rated as cabs are super cheap and they have a really good metro system. The staff was in-attentive and rude. Another couple stayed about a mile north of us at the Eurostar BCN and payed much less and had a way better experience and their Hotel was nice and felt safe. We actually spent more time there then our own hotel.

NIghtmare on Las Rambla

This is not a 4 star hotel. Its should be -1. The rooms is dirty with cheap bedding and sheeting. Nothing high-tech about this property beside the complicated shower. We had to switch room cause the sink was leaking water and than going to another room that had a jet shower that turns on and off by itself. Our friends had rooms next to us and AC did not work and the bed sheet had blood on it when they checked in. I rather stay at a hostel than this hotel. It was a waste of money. Never again will I stay at any of this chain hotel. Very Cheaply made with IKEA furniture.

Cute little Hi-Tech Hotel in the middle of Las Ramblas

The hotel is small, but very clean and modern. It is situated in the middle of Las Ramblas between Boqueria and Ramblas 78 putting you right in the middle of the action. Staff leaves early in the afternoon, so make sure to get towels, shampoos, extras early to make sure you have a clean room once you come back from a day out.

Great Location, Atractive decor.

They did not have an ice dispencer machine that you have access too, you had to ask for it and they would give you and ice bucket that is the smallest thing I ever saw so that you'd have to ask several times, and they did not have washing machines so it was a good thing that we took enough to get us through.

Good start on a hotel

An interesting high tech hotel that unfortunately fell short on service but overall not a bad place to stay. IsT is a relatively high style hotel leaning in the direction of the W chain. The hotel is situated in the tonic quarter pedestrian zone and quite hand to most of that area's sights. The hotel is clean, seem secure and it has a lovely garden. But, no bar? Also no parking provision and the front desk staff were less than helpful with such requests like restaurant recommendations, slow front desk service, and parking suggestions. Breakfast was ok but not great I spoke to a managerial type about some of the high tech features of the hote room abut he seemed to be aware of the problems but not terribly concerned about them The bath shower managed to soak much of the bathroom floor - more style than functionality in the bath We are not likely to use this hotel again but qonly because we have experience with something better like the Hote Colon or perhaps the Olivia
