A very good hotel even if its infrastructures are a little bit old (gymnasium and swimming pool) but a so excellent service provided. Very calm location (Montjuïc) but you have to ask for a backstreet room. The breakfast is just EX-CEL-LENT ! Therethemore, on the right side of Plaça d'Espanya, we rent a bycicle for 6 €/day and it was great to visit Barcelona without any stress nor tiredness.

A Palace It is Not

Fira Palace leaves a great deal to be desired. -It could use new bedding and decorating. The room is wornout out looking and uncomfortable. -The TV channels are very limited. -The reception desk is apathetic, unfriendly and not at all helpful. - The gym is worn down and half of the machines are broken. Really depressing atmosphere there. -The restaurant food is overpriced with very little variety of food offerings including room-service -The location of the hotel is not good for tourists because it is out of the way from the center of town and all activity...it is a dead neighborhood - It does not deserve the 4 stars at all

Large comfortable room, friendly staff

The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and made every effort to accommodate our requests. The 30 minutes per day free internet service was an added surprise! Smoke-free bar was great. Nice selection of food at breakfast buffet.

Great location

The three of us loved the relative quiet of the neighborhood in contrast to the central part of the city. We still had easy access to metro and even closer access to buses. We loved the bathrooms. Rooms were spatious. There were computers for guests but these were very popular so sometimes a challenge. Family enjoyed exploring restaurants and bakeries in the neighborhood.

The 2 day tour bus ticket is more than worth the 29 euro. We got on and off the buses several times plus there were discounts for other activities.

Barcelona stay

Staff very nice, professional. Room spacious, bed comfortable, large bathroom. OK location but you must walk to Plaza Espana to pick up transportation to Las Ramblas or anywhere else unless you want to pay for taxis (which can get pretty costly). Plaza Espana is relatively close, but it is a bit of a hike so if you have any problem walking or don't like to walk much, it can be an inconvenience. Hotel is kept fresh-smelling and cool in the summer (can't say that about all the local hotels)and feels serene and elegant. Eating at the hotel is not always practical because the breakfast buffet & dinner restaurant are very expensive. Overall good value for the price, just a bit far from the "action".

Hotel Fira Palace

Vacation for couple with 4 year old. Liked the size of room unusual in Europe to get this large for a reasonable price. We lucked on a very good deal through [...] by timing, 2 weeks earlier price was higher. Children under 6 are free. Buffet breakfast is expensive 18 euro per person, there are a few local places you can get more reasonable, these are not fancy and some Spanish will help get what you want. Location was fine not in touristy area, next to convention center(Fira), quiet and felt safe at night. Subway is excellent to get anywhere you want in city, station reasonable walk from hotel. Staff helpful when needed. Modern clean large bathrooms. 2 large beds in standard room. Pictures show nice pool and fitness center. We didn't have chance to use so no comment. Overall good place to stay.

feels cosmopolitan

This is a very nice modern hotel with a lot of amenities, very few of which I actually used because Barcelona is so full of things to see and do that I wasn't going to hang around the hotel. Convenient to Metro stops but not right on a big street so print out a map from [...] before you get there. The rooms are nice and are clean. Only 30 min free wireless internet daily - can pay for unlimited. Staff helpful and speak English. Definitely get the breakfast - a little pricey but a great variety and you can load up to tide you over till supper with maybe just a snack as you tour. Good bar.

Excellent location and great facilities!

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we knew we had made the right choice! The hotel was clean with great facilites, excellent decor and friendly, helpful staff! The gym and pool were both excellent, the rooms were well equiped especially the bathroom suites and the location was just about right! Not too far away from the hub of Barca and quite enough in the evening! I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family and will definately go back myself!
