Tiny rooms
Ok, be warned, the room just fits the bed and two nightstands. The bathroom is also tiny! That said, the location is pretty good (busy, but close to nice bars, venues, etc. - and you don't hear anything during the night really). Staff was friendly.

The restaurant "sensi tapas" across the street is horribly arrogant! Don't go there. There is another one just down the little street on the left that's much nicer.

Tiny room for single person. Bed not very comfortable. Clean room, TV defective. Staff very good. Hotel run bya miserable cost accountant witnessed by the silly dangerous toaster. Cost too much particularly when breakfast cost 12.50 that I did not know when I had to pay. Poorly sited in rather dangerous street. Not for late at night when door to hotel was always closed! The only nice thing about the hotel was the staff. Will not recommend it to any one or recommend your service.

Beware BED BUGS!
I have mixed opinions about this hotel - great price, FABULOUS location, but bed bugs and insolent staff made for an iffy stay. The gentleman who checked us in was downright rude. No polite smile, no welcome, simply a request to see our paperwork and passports. Our room was on the front of the hotel, with a small balcony overlooking the quaint street running in front. We were pleased with the look of the room - it appeared clean, but we were in for a big surprise. Coming off of a 24 hr. flight the first thing we did was hit the sack. Too bad the bars right outside were about to open their doors and remain open until 5am! Because the streets are so narrow and the buildings so tall, anything taking place in the street below echoes loudly. We got absolutely no sleep that first night and were not only exhausted in the morning, but covered with BED BUG BITES! We promptly asked the front desk to move us. We were switched to a much quieter room but the bed bug issue had us somewhat concerned. However we were not bit the rest of the week and so it must've just been that room. Next time I'll be sure to pull back the bedspread/sheets and examine things before climbing in. This hotel couldn't be better for location though. It's a 5 minute walk to La Rambla, there are great little restaurants right on the street, a small store with necessities, an ATM, etc. Tour buses can be found at the end of the street and amazing restaurants await in the winding alleyways behind the hotel. For the price and location I would pick this hotel again. The staff left something to be desired, but in the big scheme of things we weren't in the hotel long enough or often enough for it to matter.

try El Portalon restaurant for fabulous tapas. Located behind the hotel on Banys Nous 20. Also, try the pizza shop located directly across from the hotel - great pizza, great price! And don't miss PapaBubble across the street from the hotel. The guy there makes fabulous and enchanting candy - great presents to take home!

Simple hotel, great location
We stayed overnight here prior to taking a Mediterranean cruise. The hotel is simple, clean best attribute is the location near La Rambla and the water. If you don't mind evening noise from the bar across the street, then a room with a juliet balcony overlooking the little narrow street is what you want. Otherwise, get a room inside overlooking a courtyard, much quieter. Decent value.

Comfortable
I stayed for two nights and it was not my first stay in a European hotel. The room was to be expected, on the small side compared to american hotels but the bathroom was quite large. The room was clean, comfortable, and I had no problem sleeping at night. The only thing missing from my room was a safe. Overall the rate charged for the room was quite reasonable for the location. Also if you are interested in the breakfast it is expensive either way but inform them the day before of your interest and the cost is reduced.

Short walk from hotel
A short walk comparatively to other places I walked. Seeing a Flamenco dance was amazing. Go to Palau Dalmases @Montcada 20. T: 93 310 06 73. The atmosphere was excellent. It is an old barroc from the 17th century and when there is not a performance is it a nice quiet location for having a nice glass of wine. No food is served here and hours are limited to the evening. One thing in Spain...things go very late so expect to stay out late and sleep in late.

Nice Hotel
The hotel was very nice and clean. The location was convenient as well-- Close to both Las Ramblas and the ocean. Be aware that the "double bed" is actually two twins together.

Great location!
This hotel is located in the heart of the Gothic neighborhood. It has narrow streats that lead to businiess that are housed in caves or with brick interior. The streets all lead to the Gothic cathedral. The hotel is also close to La Rambla which is a major tourism street in Barcelona. The hotel is clean and comfortable and had good customer service. The hotel is also within walking distance of the beach.

Right around the corner from the hotel is an Italian restaurant that was an old "bodega" or winery at one time. The food there is fantastic, but the waiter informed me that you cannot drink the water in the gothic neighborhood. So, remember great italian food around the corner. And don't drink the water!

Good hidden downtown hotel
Hotel was great. Taxi drivers are not familiar with location, as is on small street in old section. Outside is deceiving. Hotel updated, tile and glass bathroom w/bidet. NO A/C, No view of city etc. Clean, smells fresh. TV is sooo small, little portable unit. Desk staff speak English. Pay for breakfast buffet, good value. Walking distance to Las Ramblos, and the Marina/Waterfront. Close to great restaurants, Metro, train, overall good place. Stayed before and after a cruise. Would go back.

Be careful of eating in small cafe's,seafood may be old. Pick pockets in crowded areas. Las Ramblas has money exchanges, restaurants, entertainment, shopping. etc. Take the train to Mont Serrat for breathtaking scenery.

Standard 3-star hotel, good location
We spend one night after cruise, so location near port and La Rambla (main street) were perfect. Bus from port cost 4 euro per person to downtown (10 min), and then another 5 min walking to hotel. Room is very basic, but it was OK with us since we stay only one night.
