H10 Universitat

The extremely professional, helpful, pleasant concierge staff at Hotel H10 Universitat literally saved our stay from disaster. In addition to making restaurant reservations for us and replacing our room keys instantly and without complaint several times, they were invaluable in helping us resolve an accidental double charge for lunch at a very expensive restaurant. The hotel itself is very clean, bright and modern inside and in a convenient location near two major Metro stops. The housekeeping staff was also very efficient and pleasant. Travelers preferring a room with twin beds over one with a double bed should note that their "Double Basic" rate only refers to the double bed -- if you want twin beds you should choose "Double Room," which is 10 euros more. That said, we think it is an excellent value for anyone visiting Barcelona.

We did a lot of sightseeing, the hotel was the perfect location for tourists. The only bad thing is that the beds were kind of hard. Everything else was great. The breakfast was awesome.

Can't beat the location and the price, relative to neighboring facilities, is competitive. Tiny room for standard twin rooms although the bathroom is quite sizeable given the overall tiny quarters. Amenities are plentiful. Suitable for travelling with an overnight bag only. Lovely rooftop terrace. Helpful staff with decent enough English. Nice buffet breakfast but crowdy at peak times. The downside: thin walls, weak air conditioning, one slim elevator (that barely holds 4 but squeezes in 6 at times), long waits for elevator if you are on top floors with luggage, and one squeaky twin sized bed sold as a "queen".

matresses were as hard as concrete. Because of the noise & vibration from the subway line below the hotel, I asked to be moved from the 3rd floor and was kindly given a room on the top floor, where you can still hear the subway but without the vibration. Double bed room has barely enough room to fit a suitcase beside the bed. Breakfast was nice, but not worth 10 Euros.

The hotel's location is good and convenient - around the shopping area and a number of food outlets can be found. It was a pleasant surprise for us when we were asked if we want to have a glass of champagne upon checking in ! The room size is rather small and if you have aluggage, it may be a problem - not knowing where to place it. Cleanliness of the room is good. The bathroom is of a good size. Front desk reception is above average . Will recommend friends to this hotel.

The room we had the first night was very small, there was no room for the suitcases without blocking the door which is a fire hazard as we wouldn't have been able to get out in an emergency

Great location -- walking distance to a ton of Barcelona highlights including Las Ramblas, Catalunya, Eixample, and even Park Guell (that was a very long walk though). Hotel is on a busy street, remodeled rooms with wood floors, nice breakfast included, and a great roof deck/bar.

H10 Universitat- modern hotel with fantastic location- short walk from Catalunya Square, Las Ramblas and Metro station, free breakfast and free wi-fi.

Stopped in BCN for an overnight layover. Being offered a glass of cava on arrival was a great welcome after a long flight.

Central location, very friendly staff. Right in the heart of the city.
