A two-year modernization brings fresh splendor to the most exclusive hotel of Barcelona. Centrally located and near the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia and famous landmarks such us the Picasso Museum and the Sagrada Familia. It boasts an important art history, as Salvador Dali and his wife Gala used to live in the Royal Suite, nowadays Suite Dali. True to its name, the hotel has outfitted its public areas in opulent style, with marble colonnades, ornate moldings, richly upholstered seating and crystal chandeliers. The guest accommodations have a more contemporary feel, with some of the Classic Deluxe rooms sporting mosaic-covered Roman-style bathrooms. The perfect choice for dining in the city, the hotels gastronomic restaurant Caelis - a must - the 19/Nineteen Restaurant and The Garden for buffet breakfast.

Excellent Hotel

Great service at this hotel. Staff is super nice, from concierge to guest relation to room attendant. Location is slightly off (2 blocks) from the major shopping and restaurants which is just fine for me. Less noise. Elegant hotel. Used to be the former Ritz. The concierge was able to book for me the extremely popular Tickets Restaurant. The on-site Michelin 1 star Caelis Restaurant is super as well. Food and service are excellent. The hub of Barcelona, the Placa Catalunya is 4 blocks away, and Metro is 2 blocks away. But taxis are not expensive in Barcelona.

The perfect location

The hotel was in a central location to sites, shopping and food! The concierges were wonderfully versed in finding fun for my daughters aged 10 and 12, and me. Highly recommended hotel.

Fabulous weekend family break

I would strongly recommend this hotel. The location is perfect as was the service, especially Alex from Concierge who helped organise our itinerary and recommended where to eat every night...excellent! The hotel ambience was lovely, our room was delightful and I would certainly stay here again. This was our first trip to Barcelona and we loved every minute of it! Thank you.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a great little patisserie just across the street from the hotel where we had breakfast every morning....delicious and inexpensive. Worth a visit.
