Barcelo Raval

Hotel is very clean, nice, and modern. Staff is friendly, and the restaurant is good. The rooms are super modern, with buttons for everything from the nightlight to the curtains. This hotel is in the El Raval section of Las Ramblas, which is an absolutely terrible neighborhood. We went for a short walk around a large block and ended up walking past a block full of prostitutes just 1 block from this hotel.... and that was in the middle of the day on a Sunday! We were not comfortable leaving the hotel after dark. I would have rated this hotel a 5 Star if it weren't for the neighborhood.

Check in was smooth and friendly, room was small but beds were comfy and room had some fun details like floor to ceiling windows with button operated curtains, nice toiletries and Nespresso machine. Building is very modern and not in the best neighborhood but easy walking to Las Ramblas. Large bed was two beds pushed together with separate bedding. Not the most romantic but clean, comfortable beds.

Visited with a friend for a city break. Think this hotel is more for business people however the area is un appealing with frequent police patrols. Noisy at night and a bit intimidating. 360 degree viewing platform is spectacular. Swimming pool is a joke. Maybe two arm strokes long by one wide.Room clean, beds comfortable, shower fairly good. Breakfast in hotel so expensive didn't bother. Staff quite pleasant. Noisy young people in adjacent rooms meant loss of one nights sleep. Wallpaper in bedroom black with green swirls, green ceiling, purple lights. Curtains black, floor to ceiling windows looking on to old blocks of apartments and lock up shops covered in graffiti. Stair wells painted black. Hotel very dark. This is my second trip to Barcelona, the hotel last time was much nicer in a better area. Recommend more research and look carefully at area as well as hotel.

Enjoyed the very hip modern ambiance, very different. Beautiful view from top floor with seats and small soaking top outside. Location was OK, walked several blocks to La Rambla down questionable old seedy streets. No washcloths in room, but towels and sheets were top grade. Great coffee machine in room. Friendly staff.

It was scary walk at night. The female staff were cold and distant and not eager to help us. The food was great and the restaurant amibence was fine. Our patio door was broken so we couldn't use it all week.

Great spot, far away from the Ramblas (5 min walk) to not have to stay up all night, but close enough to feel like you're in the heart of things. Funky decor and hotel, great service, but odd little things like no iron, hairdryer or conditioner (need to ask front desk)! Maybe this is common for Europe, I don't know. But, if that's all the bad you can come up with, that's not so bad after all!

It was clean and modern. The only reason I dont give it a 5 is because of the bed. We asked for a double bed and they gave us two twin beds side by side. A big promblme when traveling on your honeymoon.

NOISEY!!! Walls are paper thin, Outside is noisy....Not in a nice area. BUT for the price.... if you do not mind walking 15 minutes to La Rambla.... it is a good value. The rooms are ultra modern. Great shower. Convenient to walk to everything. Area is seedy ....Lots of taxis right out the front door. Easy walk during the day to entire city. Never got in a taxi.

A beautiful property and great location. The staff are incredible, but the hotel suffers from "overdesign" looks great but the glass structure keeps the heat in so the rooms can get rather toasty. I did change rooms several times to no avail. The hotel manager was extremely helpful and sent an engineer to lower the thermostat setting so I could control the temp. instead of the hotel setting of 17c Everything was PERFECT from then on!!!!
