The Parador of Argomaniz in Alava was chosen by Napoleon as lodging to restore his forces before attacking Vitoria. With a shield of the Larrea family on the facade, as well as an atmospheric decoration, this hotel will take you back through time and reveal its great history. The interior spaces are dominated by the presence of wood in the ceilings, floors, furnishings, arches and other details. Very clean, just out of town, but service lacking

Overall, we had a decent stay at Parador. The rooms are super clean and well appointed. It sits on a very quiet piece of land outside Vitoria but still accessible to town with a 20 minute drive. Our only issue was that when asked for help on various issues, notably Air Conditioning, the staff were rather non-helpful or put off by the questions. We had to call down multiple times to have the air conditioning turned on because it is only set to operate at certain windows. Resting from jet lag should trump energy efficiency if the guest makes a request.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Plan meals when you are in town as the restaurant is quite expensive if used as only option. However, food is good when you do use it.
