Ramada Seoul Dongdaemun is located in the heart of Seouls business and culture district closed to the many tourist attractions and famous shopping area, Dongdaemun. We are convenient to access public transportation and motorways into the city and also airport bus is available from Incheon and Gimpo airport. All rooms have personal control system of air-condition and heating, LCD TV with non payable movies and international TV channels. There is high speed wireless internet in the lobby-cost is KRW 18,000 - for 24hours of use. Buffet Breakfast. Breakfast fee included in room rate. La Bellezza Restaurant Onsite.

Okay for the price, but not a 4 star

This is an okay hotel for price as long as you keepo your expectations right. By US standards, its probably a 2.5-3 star. The location is in a very old area of Seoul with some run down establishments nearby. Nothing for the view other than rooftops so you will keep curtains closed. Also there are some oddities like taped out temperature control in room, no wifi in room etc, On positive side, taxis are cheap in Seoul and Dondaemun location is close to tourist attractions ($ 5-10 max for a taxi ride). Staff speaks english and tries to be helpful.

Don't bother walking to subway station from this hotel if you are going 5-6 km. Just take a taxi, its more convenient and cheap.

Average, Not completely built

The location was good, near the subway and near Dongdaemun Market (good area for shopping). The staff was pleasant and spoke English well. They were helpful with answering my questions like directions to different areas in Seoul. The rooms and amenities were average for a Ramada. The hotel is new so they didn't have a guest service book with directions (like how to use turn on the air conditioner). The room did have free wireless internet (a huge plus). The big negative was that the hotel was still under construction so it looked unsightly from the outside. And it was very noisy during the day. From the description on the internet, it sounded like the hotel was complete. Also, the airport bus does not drop you off or pick you up from this Ramada. The Ramada Hotel & Suites in Namdaemun is a bit more expensive, but it was complete, had several coffee shops nearby and was more centrally located in Seoul. And the airport bus stops here.

A short walk from the hotel is Dongdaemun Market where there is a lot of good shopping (discount shopping) and a lot of inexpensive eateries.

I was lucky to be upgraded to

I was lucky to be upgraded to a large room in the top floor and it's very surprise to find a washing machine, my icebox even got a freezer. The service in the counter is good and the staff are friendly. This hotel is very close to COOP (5min) so it's easy to catch airport bus there.
