Watch the Mosquitos
Though it's not the fault of the staff--I hope--I would recommend to anyone staying at Lee's that they be careful of the mosquitos. They don't seem to frequent the lobby or first floor outside areas, but higher up they get thick. I was on the eighth floor and they were pretty bad. The staff was nice. Admittedly, it helped to have my Korean-speaking fiancee there with me. The alarm clock in the room didn't work and the front desk missed one of the wake-up calls I had scheduled in lieu of that fact. Overall, I might stay here again because of the location--it's just a few steps from the line 1 subway--but my expectations besides that would be farily low.

Short walk from hotel
The line 1 subway is super-close, and you can catch that to get pretty much anywhere you want in Seoul, but don't get on that train so fast. While still at street level at the subway entrance, take a look across the street at the market. Get over there via the underground mall--don't get too sidetracked there--and enjoy the market sights, sounds, and smells for a little break from the normal Seoul rush.

Good location. 5 minute walk to
Good location. 5 minute walk to subway station Jongno-5 ga Exit 13 or 14. Please see earlier post on directions. Arrived late at night, took Airport bus 6002 to Jongno-4 ga. Cross the road and take the first left. The police station is on the right. Take the small lane and hotel is behind the Police station. Many restaurants nearby. Seoul's metro is fast, cheap and efficient. Enjoyed the trip to Seoul.

The hotel staff were helpful though
The hotel staff were helpful though they do not speak much english. The location is very good(very near to Dongdaemon & Insa-dong shopping area and sightseeing locations(the Palaces, Jongmyo Shrine and the Jogyesha Temple) and airport limusine stops. I will stay there if I revisit Seoul.

Hard to find but a good deal
The hotel is rather difficult to find as it is off of a very small alley-type street from the metro. We were extremely fortunate to have a nice gentleman in the metro offer to walk us to the hotel to show us where it was. There is confusion as the hotel shown on different signs and literature as alternatively "Lees Hotel", "Hotel Lees", and "Lee's Hotel". The sign outside has the word "Hotel" in huge, bright letters and "Lees" in much smaller letters. The hotel was small and reasonably clean. The staff at the desk was extremely helpful and arranged a taxi and a guided tour for us. When the person at the front desk didn't speak English he called someone else up on the phone who translated for us. Everything in the room is controlled by a remote which is mostly all in Korean. We had a devil of a time figuring out the temperature control and alternately froze and boiled the first night before asking the front desk for help. The provide a kettle in the room for boiling the tap water and a fridge so we boiled water, but it in our water bottles, and chilled them overnight each day as you can't drink the tap water. Overall it was a decent place, well located once we found it, and the staff was helpful. The one downside is that the beds were hard as rock and about as comfortable.

This is a very good deal for the
This is a very good deal for the price. Airport drop-off was close by. Buslines and subway are also close by. Some major sight-seeing locations are within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor market a few hundred yards away. Underground shopping and outdoor art market are very close by.
