Basic hotel at good location

The hotel is worn out and needs renovation. Reception staff have limited English command. Breakfasts are Korean style. On the bright side: good location, fair price.

Mediocre

The room is clean. No shampoo. No WiFi. I tried the SPA. I never had a better beating from a woman before:) Receptionists don't speak English. They understand a little but they are very helpful. The view towards the mountain sucks. No view at all. Breakfast is typical Asian breakfast and it was not included in the price. The şinternet site did not either warn me of it.

Comfortable but basic

Very small room but clean and comfortable.Had a tv with 2 English channels and refrigerator in room.Provided small bar of soap but no shampoo or conditioner. You have to pay extra for these standard items.Had a currency exchange in Lobby.Personnel spoke little English but were friendly.Within walking distance to seawall, wal-mart, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts.Oriental Hotel & Ramada within walking distance which have Casinos and nice Korean Restaurants.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Rental Cars are very expensive and unreliable.Avis Rental was the most expensive with $1400 for 4 day rental of a standard vehicle.Je Ju Rental was least expensive but unreliable.I reserved a car and paid for a taxi to the airport to pick up car ony to find they would not rent to me claiming they had no more vehicles even though I arrived 20 minutes after getting off of phone with confirmation.Global Taxi is your best bet for traveling$100-150 per 5-8 hours will take you anywhere on the island as many places you would like to go wih your own private guide. He worked out as a translator for us as well as a photographer taking pictures so my husband and I boh could be n the pictures. Our English Speaking guide was [...].

Fabulous View!

The staff had limited English, but the view of the ocean, the centralized location, and the frequency with which cabs passed the hotel were excellent. The room was clean and nicer than average for a Korean establishment. The bed was of normal hardness for Korea; however, the fridge was big enough for snacks and drinks, the Internet was available for free in the lobby, toiletries were provided in the room, and the TV was huge.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

"Jump," which is playing at Jeju Hallasan University, was terrific! We had to provide an address in hanguel for the cabbie to understand where we wanted to go, but it was worth the hassle.

My Stay

Didn't really use the hotel for much other than sleeping and showering. Beds were average for Korean standards. Showers worked & had hot water. Room had a great view. The front desk spoke limited English but were very helpful.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Help for non-Korean speakers on the island: Buses are a good way to get around, but it is very helpful to learn Hangul if possible as the maps and stops are often in Hangul only. Some bus drivers will shout out the stop name to you if you don't get up at the stop, but some won't (obviously if you're going to the final stop this isn't an issue). Also for locations, have a map that shows where you want to go that you can point at, it is easy for taxi drivers to get confused and take you to the wrong spot or not understand where you want to go otherwise. Anything to show them as telling them doesn't seem to work even if it is pronounced the same, but if they read it (Hangul) or see a picture they seem to know exactly where to take you.
