Friendly Staff

It was enjoyable with great front desk clerks and concierge. They let us check-in super early and check-out a couple hours after the regular check-out hours. They were helpful when our air conditioner had problems and eventually switched us to another room. They also arranged for all of our transportation. The only down side is that the hotel is a good walk to the swimming part of the beach. Btw, the hotel lobby is absolutely stunning. My cousins and I went to the Lotte Hotel next door and it's nothing compared to the Hyatt Regency.

It is a very nice but all-in-all

It is a very nice but all-in-all an expensive hotel - and internet is extra and also expensive. Food is expensive at the hotel. Not too easy to get around if you do not have a car.

I highly recommend Hyatt Regency

I highly recommend Hyatt Regency in Jeju island as it is well-priced and the scenery outside of the ocean view room is just spectacular. Facilities are excellent and the room is well-kept.

The hotel is very nice. The location

The hotel is very nice. The location is a bit of a problem as Jeju is actually a very big island so getting around is a bit difficult if you don't have a car. The concierge is very helpful and her english was very good. She helped us organize an all day taxi hire which gave us a tour of the sights on the island that we wanted to see and worked out to be much cheaper than the standard taxi hire (but not as cheap as going on the tour which was fully booked).

Beautiful hotel with great location

It is a little expensive in peak summer season, but if you have the money it is a beautiful hotel located right on the cliff and next to beach. You can hear the ocean and relax on your own balcony. Everyone is kind and some speak very good English.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

For some western style relaxed dining ask the front desk for a taxi to 'Geckos'. It's about 5-10 minutes away and they have a variety of good food to choose from at more reasonable prices than the hotels. Fun environment, too.

Beautiful Island, lovely hotel!

Jeju Island is really beautiful, and Jungman Resort area is especially so. I booked the Hyatt on short notice for a Korean holiday weekend, and got a great rate! The view from our room was spectacular. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, even with the open lobby, and the staff were really nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the extensive Asian-Western breakfast buffet each morning, and the koi pond bar with live music in the evening. We rented bicycles in town one day and hired and a taxi and took convenient public buses the next, at the advice of the helpful concierge staff, who worked with us on our outdoor activity adventures. It would have also been very pleasant to hang around the hotel and chill at the spa. The gorgeous outdoor pool was unfortunately not open (oddly so by our thinking, although our son said most Koreans don't sit in the sun). The beaches on both sides of the cliff side hotel were beautiful and clean, down rather steep and adventurous stairs, but worth the hike. Our room was of a normal size, with updated everything, a roomy balcony with teak furniture, firm Korean mattresses and of course, the wonderful electronic wonder toilet with the heated seat we grew to love in Korea. I wish I was at the Hyatt on Jeju right now!

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Rent bicycles and ride along the coastal roads to some of the waterfalls. Buy oranges along the way. The public buses are regular, easy and very inexpensive and a good way to see Jeju normal folk. You can use your Korean T-money pass. Use the 600 bus from the airport. It comes right to the hotel door for a few $s. Most people hire a taxi for the day, which is also nice. There is so much to see and do! Enjoy! (Oh try anything made with abalone, even raw, and pork is good)

Great hotel

The hotel staff was wonderful. Everyone spoke great English and really helped plan out our days for us, and getting us to all the right places. They called and made reservations at places for us, and made sure we could get any discounts that were possible. The spa staff was also wonderful and the location of the hotel had breathe taking views. I recommend this hotel!

Romantic Getaway

Relaxing and enjoyable room. Very kind and helpful staff. It was our 1st anniversary and they provided a complimentary 8" cake. The only free wifi is provided in the lobby area. There is a charge to use internet in the rooms. Would not mind staying here again!

Two great restaurants I suggest: Gecko's (American-style) and Le Miel (Italian).

Good value in Jungmun

The Hyatt is outclassed by Lotte and Shilla in terms of size and features, but its lower price makes it a good value for the Jungmun Tourist District. We traveled in April during the off-peak season, and found that most of the hotel's restaurants were closed, as well as the outdoor pool and much of the garden areas. However the rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet, while small compared to Lotte and Shilla, still provided excellent variety. Overall a good choice unless you plan on spending all of your time at the hotel.
