It's brand new...

First the cons: If the distance (9.6 miles) from Incheon International Airport sounds too good to be true that's because it is. The only route there requires going over the new toll bridge to Songdo and altogether the trip is about 25-35 minutes one way by bus or taxi. A taxi will run (one way) about 45k to 70k won, while the bus (303 line) is only 2,500 won. The downside to the bus is that it does not stop at the Sheraton itself, you have to walk a few blocks to find the stop. It seems that the door to your room does very little to block sound from the hallways. Not much else to say about that. Now the pros: It might not look like much on the outside...kind of a bland square building...but once you walk in the main entrance (which is kind of around the back) you will be immediately impressed. The front lobby / lounge (the bar is located here as well) is a nicely appointed open area that just sparkles. The Registration and Concierge desks are staffed with very eager and professional young people who happen to speak excellent English in addition to their native tongue. This hotel just opened in August of 2009 and the newness still shows throughout. The rooms are spacious with full wall windows to let in plenty of light. Furniture throughout is of good quality and each piece looks like it belongs. The beds are ultra comfortable and all of the lights can be controlled by a console on the night stand that also serves as your alarm clock. There is a very well stocked mini-bar, with plenty of accompanying snack items and other sundries...but the price you pay for the convenience is high! The bathrooms are simply gorgeous...the lighting is perhaps a little on the dim side, but the fixtures are classy and neat. If you have movies or music on your laptop that you wish to enjoy there is a very handy panel on the wall by the desk that provides the necessary inputs to link your computer to the room's TV/Stero. Just remember to bring your cables! (VGA + audio or HDMI)
