I was satisfied with this hotel. We stayed in a corner suite with ocean view. The room was very spacious, it had a nice big jacuzzi tub, bidet toilet, and good sized bathroom for a hotel. Complementary water (1 bottle a day) was nice and it was only 1000 won ($1) from the minibar which I appreciated. The TV was impossible to figure out, but someone came up to help us and was very friendly. Everything was in Korean, though, but my 6-year old still enjoyed the cartoons he was used to. No dressers, but you have a closet. Definitely not a 5-star hotel and some things looked like they could be updated and there were stains on the carpet in the hallway, but mostly it was ok. There is no room service, but there is a restaurant at the bottom floor that serves food pretty late. The continental breakfast wasn't amazing by any means, but it was decent enough that we got full and it was nice that it came complimentary with the room. Cons: You need an adapter/converter for American plugs and we found out that the hotel does have some, but you have to request them when you make your reservation, so they were all out. Make sure you reserve them ahead of time if you need them! Also, there is a terrace on the room, which looked very nice and we were excited about hanging out on a night, but it was closed off for some reason. Not sure why. Also, the air conditioner would shut off randomly. It would shut off during the night and we would wake up warm. All in all, the pros out-weighed the cons and we would stay there again. Very good location. Tips: There is a chicken place across the street called Outdark. Go there! It's amazing...promise! Also, the Coffee Mandalay restaurant in the hotel was very good. It's all organic so I enjoyed it very much.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a chicken place across the street called Outdark. Go there! It's amazing...promise! There is a doorway to stairs right by the convenience store. It's kind of hidden, but so worth it, I swear! Also, the Coffee Mandalay restaurant in the hotel was very good. It's all organic so I enjoyed it very much.

Nice stay for 1 or 2 nights

I was a little leery when we first arrived at the building as the elevator had a large scantily-clad couple on it (leaving little to the imagination) and the hotel rooms only occupy floors 10-15 (usually not a good sign). However, I was pleasantly surprised that our room was both spacious and clean. The shower had two large bottles of generic shampoo and body washes (probably refilled from bigger bottles). The only negative is this hotel seems very strict on check-out times as we got a call 4 minutes after the scheduled check-out time informing us that we need to leave (or pay more). Also, be warned that only one bottle of water from the fridge is complimentary!

Weekend trip

The whole process was nice and easy. The staff that checked me spoke perfect English. I walked in, gave my passport, and received my room key and free breakfast vouchers. While breakfast was a standard run of the mill I enjoyed being able to see the beach from my room. I would say that while the amenities are not great, free bottle of water and some coffee and tea, the rest of the room was perfect. In whole it was larger than my apartment in Seoul. A large sized bathroom and bathtub. Also the bed was quite comfortable. The room was very clean. I would stay here again.

Fantastic Room

The room was great. Very spacious. The view was great. Staff provided extra bedding (Korean style floor mats + blanket and pillows) for the kids to sleep on. They loved it.

Best Place to Stay in Busan

The rooms are probably some of the best I have seen for a Korean Hotel. Ultra modern rooms with tile floors, remote control that lets you control everything from the lights, tv, to air conditioner, and the bathroom is huge. Even though it is across the street from the beach, many of the rooms still have views of the ocean. I've been here numerous times and by far it is the best option you can get for the money.

but where is the bureau?

Great bathtub for 2. Super veranda overlooking the beach. Fine staff, surprisingly OK supper restaurant on 2nd floor. Sparse and spare and comfortable and elegant but you do need to put your clothing somewhere. Where did the furniture for the clothing go? You can't steal a bureau. No place to unpack. Great hotel though.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to the small Italian "La Buchetta" for breakfast on the boardwalk - just past the Starbucks. And the Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor of the SeaCloud hotel (across the street from Sunset Hotel) was also quite fine and not expensive.

Sunset Business Hotel

The location of Sunset Business Hotel is quite good, very accessible to the airport limoousine, and a street from the beach. The neighborhood is also very nice, a lot of restaurants that serves Korean food, hamburger, fried chicken. Across the hotel is the Hauendae Market where you can find a lot of food, fruits, household items, handbags. The staff at this hotel is very polite and helpful. The rooms are very clean, bed comfortable.

exceeded expectations

Check-in was fast and easy. The rooms looked just as nice and spacious as the pictures on the website. The bed was comfortable, with down pillows and a down comforter. The amenities don't list a hairdryer, but one is provided. The bathroom had a bidet toilet. The TV was a huge wall-mounted flat-screen. The air conditioner was ceiling-mounted and quiet. It's not on the beach like Novotel or Westin Chosun, but it's just across the street from it and I had a nice view. The Busan Aquarium is on the beach. Friday's, Bennigans, and I think Outback were right around the corner, as were a Burger King and KFC. There's a Breeze Burn's Burgers and Grills just outside the hotel entrance. I had the garlic chicken sandwich and a BLT - both delicious. There's a Thai massage salon on the 4th floor. I had a 90 min. body massage for 80,000 won and enjoyed every relaxing minute. The only drawbacks: they didn't provide washcloths. I didn't ask for one, so maybe they would have if I had. Also, I don't have a cell phone, so I missed not having a clock. (The phone showed the time, but it was wrong and I didn't know how to change it.) They do have a phone wake-up service. If you take the subway from the train, you have to leave the train station and walk to the subway entrance in front of it, by the street. It's about 45-60 min. to the Haeundae stop. Take exit 5 and walk straight toward the beach. This seems like a long time, but it's worth it. The best beach hotels are located here.
