Great Stay!

Would recommend Tue, Mar 3, 2015
Great stay. Great room. Great food. Our rate included wi-fi and breakfast for 2 daily. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff learned our coffee/tea preferences after the first day. Was really nice. Uber from hotel to the waterfront was less than $4 USD. Didn't walk around at night, but seemed to be in a good shopping area.

I had a great time in Cape Town & really enjoyed my stay at the Taj! I arrived in Cape Town after spending 3 days in Johannesburg, where I stayed in a suite in another excellent hotel. I was initially concerned that I would be in for a downgrade in stay, but the room at the Taj was very spacious, and provided a balcony which my previous room did not. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping did a great job as did the doormen! The location of the hotel is great as it is within walking distance of many attractions. The staff at the Mint restaurant could have been more attentive, but some of it could have been cultural differences, which i've experienced in other countries as well. I realize us Americans can be impatient.. Thomas appeared to be in a supervisory position at the Mint, & he did a really good job. Overall it was a great stay and if I return to Cape Town, i'll definitely be staying at the Taj!

Nightlife hint

Take a stroll down to Long Street, which is about a 3 blocks from the hotel. Lots of bars and a few clubs to choose from! During the day you can also do some shopping and/or eat at one of the numerous restaurants on Long Street.

Taj Cape Town

Would recommend Sun, Oct 26, 2014
Nestled in the heart of Cape Town walking distance to the Company Gardens and malls and suave restaurants ,The Taj is the bee's knees. An old bank renovated to accentuate it's former glory it really does not fail to please.Excellent restaurants ,The Mint and the Bombay Brasserie run by expert chefs and of course the cosy Twanky's Bar where one can sink into it's comfy seats and into oblivion with their great cocktails. The room was spacious and tastefully furnished, with very little detail taken into account Most of all it was the absolutely amazing staff who made the stay so pleasant?Bravo Taj you did it again!

Taj is one of the best hotel chains in the world!

Would recommend Mon, Jul 28, 2014
I've stayed at the Taj in Delhi, India and their impeccable service convinced me to try out their hotel in Taj Cape Town. I definitely was not disappointed. The service was great, breakfast was great, and room was great! It's definitely a big hotel with a lot of business travelers but the staff is very warm. The location is great to walk around the happening bars and restaurants on Long and Kloof Street.

Cape Town break

Would recommend Sat, Mar 29, 2014
Hotel amazing but staff need improvement. A few errors led to my tours not running as smoothly as I had hoped. They don't give you the full information. Also, I was put into an adjoining room and they refused to move me because they already had my money and told me they couldn't offer me a better room at that price.

Nice Inexpensive Central Hotel

Would recommend Wed, Feb 26, 2014
Coming from a boutique smaller hotel, the Taj felt slightly less personal. That being said, the staff was always available, rooms large and great price for the location and amenities, so really had no complaints and would definitely stay here again!

A World Apart

Would recommend Mon, Feb 3, 2014
We were booked into another hotel for one night by another tour company having travelled to Cape Town by cruise on the QM2. The hotel we had been booked into was "the pits". We decided to extend our holiday and made a new booking online in this hotel. The hotels were a World apart. Beautiful building, pleasant, attentive and courteous staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was a feast and included in the price. Shuttle bus to waterfront and Table Mountain every hour. This was our first stay in a TAJ hotel. Next time it will be our first choice.

Dining

Hotel food excellent in the Mint and Bombay Brasserie.

Great deal for a great hotel

Would recommend Fri, Oct 12, 2012
I visited this hotel on a recent business trip. I switched from the Proteia Hotel Fire and Ice because it was so terrible. What a contrast to the Taj! It was a fantastic stay with a great room and friendly staff. They delivered my laundry with a rose!! I highly recommend it.
