Spacious condos located on Dawn Beach in St. Maarten
The Oyster Bay Beach Resort is a secluded tropical hideaway nestled on an eight-acre peninsula. Originally built as a private club on beautiful Dawn Beach and Oyster Pond, the recently renovated resort features Moorish arches and stone towers and Caribbean-style buildings. In addition to the beach, Oyster Bay features an infinity pool and whirlpool. Other amenities include two restaurants, a fitness center, a full activities program, and nightly entertainment.

A very nice hotel for the price. The location was excellent. Far enough away from the busier, Americanized hotels. Great activities and a very friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance just outside the complex gates.

If you like to get out of the complex, you need a car. Best to rent one right at the airport.

Disappointing decline of this resort
We just got back from our fifth visit to Oyster Bay Beach Resort and must say that we were disappointed to see a marked decline in cleanliness, upkeep and overall customer service. Other areas throughout the island were also in visible decline - tell tale signs that the economy is having a serious impact on St. Martin's tourist income. I hope they recover soon as it is still one of my favorite places to visit.

We had fantastic dinners at a nearby restaurant, Canoa. Their young staff was friendly, energetic and made the experience almost as fantastic as the food.

Great location and very friendly!
We really enjoyed Oyster Bay. The staff was very friendly, everyone gives you a friendly greeting whenever they see you. Our one bedroom suite was a little outdated but very large, which was great for our family of 4. Our balcony was directly over the water and the view was phenomenal. The location was perfect, with several great restaurant choices both in and around the resort. The beach was great and the marina behind the resort provided more great scenery.

Oyster Bay 2011
Saint Martin is a great vacation, definitely get a rental car to cruise the island. A must see is a day trip to Anguilla, again get a rental car. Have a beer on Maho Beach, watch the planes land. The Westin is definitely the place to stay, but quite pricey. Oyster Bay Resort was nice, but out of the way, not much in the vicinity. Probably will not stay there again.

Great Getaway
We arrived early at the resort and they were able to get us a room 2 hrs before original check in. The place is clean well kept and the staff is friendly. We were able to rent a car at the front desk, we toured the island in a day. Fantastic views and beaches. However, the cleaners did not do a good job of cleaning the rooms, they left dirty dishes, bottles and paperbags on the night tables and dressers. Overall had a great time. Walk with extra cash nothing is free even the wifi in the lobby.

Great Views in a Timeshare Setup
The hotel was a wonderful experience, although we found it to be very suited to the timeshare owners. If staying in the hotel rooms (of which there are only a few) the rooms are off of the main social area and are loud due to the activities outside and morning setup. Staff was very helpful and courteous, parking was easy, and location can't be beat for views and easy access to the French and Dutch sides of the island. Free snorkeling equipment, SCUBA demos, cushioned beach chairs, infinity pool and Beau Beau's beach bar with GREAT happy hour specials and bar staff make this a very fun and active place to stay.

Perfect place to relax
We came here to relax for our honeymoon, and loved it. The location was perfect for us--quiet, on a marina, accessible to Dawn Beach and the few restaurants nearby (including the ones at the Westin down the road). If you are looking to chill out at an awesome pool and the beach for several days, this is your place. The hotel is also a timeshare place so guests can participate in the many, many activities the resort offers---aqua aerobics, happy hours, etc. The staff was incredibly professional and mostly super friendly and helpful. We were really, really pleased and felt it was well worth the price. I would say the inside of our room was maybe more similar to a beach motel in the U.S., so not necessarily the most luxurious, but it was definitely clean and again the price just couldn't be beat.

Do Captain Alan's snorkeling tour! A half day boat trip around the northern part of the island for two snorkeling sites and a natural mud bath! $70 per person--includes drinks on the boat.

worst place ive ever stayed
[...] sent me to a hotel in the middle of nowhere dirt hotel no towels no hot water no power...staff terrible food terrible room accomendations were wrong ...very dissappointed !!! bad trip my family is very sad...we spent all that money and had a horrible time !
