Funky design hotel with interesting rooms

I love design and interesting unique hotels. So this place should have whetted my whistle without reservation. It is constructed from an old school, across from hawker food markets and in the most interesting neighborhood of Little India, complimented by high design at its best, carried out very well. The only problem is we had a dark red room on the pantone floor. As much as I appreciate it for its boldness, it was not easy on the eyes. The bed is in a strange very high platform two large steps up, and is made of tile, giving you the feeling to sleeping in a bathroom. There was no place to sit and no desk. I'd book again, but ask for a lighter color or stay on another floor.

Pink room review

I stayed in the psychedelic pink room in my short one-night stay at the Wanderlust. The staff was outstanding in their assistance for me during my stay. My flight the next morning was at 5:00 am and I needed to check out at around 2:00 am. The check-in agent offered to have a breakfast prepared for me to take with me. The breakfast was yogurt, a large serving of fresh fruit, and a large chicken salad sandwich, along with a napkin and plastic ware, all of which were of very good quality. I had dinner at the restaurant onsite, and while the cost was rather on the high side, the food was excellent and the service was good. I had read reviews about the noise levels, shower leaking onto the floor of the room, and the lack of privacy inside the room, and while both were true about my room (only a little water leaking), those type of things are not a problem with me. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I was tired enough that the higher than normal noise level outside the room did not bother me at all. Overall, this was a fun place to stay for a short visit to this lovely city/country. :-)
