Not too much space

This hotel room was quite small, almost like a Japanese commuter hotel. For the money, I was expecting a lot more. The bathroom was very small and the temperature of the water was inconsistent, often going from extreme hot to cold. And the stall does not contain all the water and therefore the entire bathroom becomes wet. The room is bare floored with the remaining space that is provided. The bed was very hard and there are only 2 pillows provided. As a US business traveler, this hotel does not even match the qualities of a hotel that is 1 star in the US. I've stayed in youth hostels nicer than this place. The MRT is beneath the building and there is a food court that surrounds the MRT entrance/exits. It's good location if you're familiar with taking the MRT and there's always something available to eat. BUT for the money, please select something else.

MRT. Learn to take the MRT when in Singapore: it's super cheap and easy. No need to wait for a taxi, which may take a while, MRT is significantly cheaper and more accessible.

Small Room; OK for 1 night

It's a heavily used hotel and you feel how packed it is during check-out and breakfast time (we paid extra for the breakfast). We like the floor because with the heavy traffic it's overall clean and good to look at. However, being stone floor, you hear any noise or movement when people are outside your room. The location of the hotel is the best part if you want a convenient place to sleep. The room is small and the shower stall design not smart unless you're over 6 feet AND weighs under 160 lbs. Nothing around the hotel unless you have business with Singapore's immigration bureau. Breakfast is okay if you're getting yours free. Otherwise don't expect much from it. Our best time at the hotel was sitting near the swimming pool at breakfast. There was a breeze and most of the hotel's guests didn't venture that far to sit to eat.

last night

Room is small. There was no cold water in bathroom sink in daytime almost burned my hands. Mirror behind bed was not clean. Too many rooms in hotel had to wait for the elevator for a long time. They have me free internet but laptop could not pick up wireless signal and only one month old.Only my phone picked up the signal. Only good part was above the MRT train system. Luckily I had credits and only paid $11 cad to stay one night. Only good part is they have

Need improvement

. No soap at restroom. Only 2 towel. Very slow room service. . Not fully dried blanket on bed. Not cozy at all. . Slit underneath the door. Noise of corridor penetrates all night. Privacy is not guaranteed.

Be Prepared.

I chose the V Hotel Lavender based solely on price. Perhaps this was my mistake, or perhaps I'm just a spoiled traveler. First the good. Room was clean. Now for the other stuff. The Room is small, even by Asian hotel standards the room is small. No Iron, No complementary soap as the review says, it lacks that something. Also be warned, if you are adverse to "busy" this hotel is NOT for you. This is a VERY BUSY hotel, you will not get a clean or less than packed elevator ride despite the hour of day or night you decide to try. Always a packed elevator and there are significant wait times for said elevators. The hotel staff is so-so at best. The hotel description is correct, each room has WiFi would like them to be more specific and tell you it's 10 bucks a day. Not a big deal, however would be nice to know this in advance. Location is not good nor bad, but not good if you are looking to be near the sights of Singapore. Everything is pretty much a 8-10 dollar cab ride away. ( cabs are difficult to get depending on time of day) Honestly, if I were traveling alone on business, I might consider this hotel, With 2 persons, certainly not room is too small and not worth the savings with the lack of little things. Not a vacation hotel in the least as everything from the location to dealing with the staff, to lack of little things in the little room seemed to be a hassle. traveler beware. Not a horrible hotel, just know what you are getting into.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Duck and Hippo tours. Got the 3day Singapore pass. 63 usd per person. GREAT value, and great tour. I'm not a tour kind of person. My wife talked me into this, and it was a joy. Tons of hop on hop off access, as well as tickets to the Duck tour, ( land and water vehicle which takes you into the harbor) , The Singapore Flyer, and multiple museums a great go at your own pace situation which far exceeded my expectations. Saves you a ton of money, a ton of time, and you learn and explore at your own pace.
