Affordable Orchard road hotel
This hotel was wonderful and an amazing deal for an Orchard Road hotel. I was upgraded to a premium room automatically, and stayed the next day until 1:15 pm without any problem (late checkout). The room was very clean, linens were new and clean, shower was brand new, very hot water.

ROOM needed updating
We arrived late at night but as my husband wanted wi-fi, we upgrated to Executive Room. The room was very "tired". The carpet was dirty, wallpaper peeling off, lighting not adequate, hook in bathroom falling off. Air conditioning wouldnt get cold. The safe did not work but was fixed. The staff were friendly & helpful but not prepared to do anything about our room The location of the hotel is good but not my cup of tea. I dread to think what the room would have been like had we not upgraded, who knows it may have been better. The pool was great & the pool area.

Good value for the money
Although not fancy, the room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff at the Elizabeth was extremely helpful. In the middle of the night (you know how jet lag is...), they came up to bring me a plug converter and help resolve a lighting issue. Within five minutes everything was 100% taken care of.

Although I would not recommend the restaurant in the hotel, there is a very nice Thai restaurant across the street and down the hill from the Elizabeth.

A disappointing experience
The hotel was ok for a short stay. The location was convenient for the shops in Orchard Rd and for access to the train system. The description of the hotel says it was recently renovated but there was little evidence of that in the room we stayed in. I would describe the decor as "faded glory". The beds were clean and comfortable.I booked one room for 3 people via [...]. When I arrived at the hotel I had to pay $58 Sing per night for the extra bed. [...] Wifi is only available at some unreasonable additional charge. My rating is based on deducting one star because of the extra bed fiasco and another for the tired appearance of the room.
