Disappointing!

Not great value for money, 5 star but only 3 start at its bets! the only great thing about the hotel was the location. You can book any of the hundreds hotel in the vicinity at a fraction of price. don't bother! Lack of free wifi was another downfall as the starbucks offered free wifi and the hotel was charging $28 for 24 hours!!! what a rip off. The bathroom fixture was very old and antiquated. The spa facilities were shared with fairmont and very good apart from the staff at the spa who were very rude and abrupt. I got told off to wait as outside as there was 3 minutes before it opened...the gym staff however very courteous.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Star bucks nearby with free wifi, don't bother spending $28 for 24hours. Good food outlets in every shopping centres, inter connected underground and air conditioned which is a God send... Don't bother going for the 'Singapore flyer' better off with the Sky Park viewing platform.

A 5 star hotel in name only

Superficially good looking hotel, but no way is it 5 stars. The bathrooms date from the 80's and the room service pricing guide is very misleading, £90 for their cheapest bottle of wine

Not a good experience!

Check in was conducted without a smile or a welcome. Only interested in taking a credit card deposit (no receipt given until requested!). The first room we were given was truly awful: basic, empty minibar, dated furnishings. After complaining to the Duty Manager it was changed to a more acceptable one. On the plus side, as the Business Centre was closed at 11pm the front desk staff allowed me to check in for my flight online at the reception. Also, a late checkout was provided when asked.

Good location and great staff

We did all the sightseeing ,excercised, went for dinner and enjoyed the pool.We "lost" a nigt gown when the maid changed the bed.And the service we got when they found it was great. They served us a bottle of wine in the room with some fruit and a big apology in a letter.Very professional.A nice touch. The only thing we reacted on was the price for the brekfast.I have traveleld all over the world but that took the prize I think $ 40 it is a bit too much.

Great location, fab rooms and service

We stayed in the executive rooms on 60th floor. Balcony with spectacular views of City, nice club room with breakfast and soft drinks included during the day and appetisers and drinks each evening- good added value. Pool was a little disappointing and had to share with Fairmont which means a bit crowded but on plus side you get to use the Fairmont Spa which is great. Location is great- on top of one of best malls in Singapore and easy access to MRT for other travel requirements. Staff very helpful.

Excellent value with a view

I was very impressed with the Swissotel. I read some other reviews that this hotel was in a little need of renovation. I didn't see any evidence of that. The bathtub was amazing! It had enough space for two people easily. The bathroom tiles and counter were top notch. The room was spacious, and perhaps one of the best parts of this hotel was the fact that it sits right above two malls! Citylink and Raffles City mall. The food in Raffles city mall is amazing! I will recommend this hotel to my family and friends!

Great service; convenient to mall

One expects efficiency from the Swiss, and this hotel does not disappoint. The lobby was beautiful and prominently featured a large four-faced transparent clock...also quite Swiss. Service was impeccable, check-in streamlined, everyone friendly and helpful. There is a panoramic view of downtown Singapore from the higher floors (Swissotel appears to be the tallest hotel in town.) Rooms are spotless, furniture a tiny bit dated but that's a minor point. The two circular outdoor pools are nice for kids and sunbathing, though not for lap swimming (if that's your thing, which it is for me.) Location is convenient with direct access to the subway and a nice multi-story mall next door with all types of restaurant. We ate lunch at the food court every day. Also it is across the street from the Raffles Hotel. We booked two very spacious rooms for 2 adults and 3 young kids.
