Robertson and Clarke quays are just a few steps away from the hotel with their many bars, restaurants and entertainment opportunities. The reception area boasts five-meter-tall chandeliers suspended dramatically from the ceiling, greeting guests upon their arrival. Occupying nine spacious floors, the rooms feature Italian inspired decor by Piero Lissoni, who has created a garden-like atmosphere within the Studio M Hotel.

Studio M Hotel Rooms
Studio M Hotel offers a choice of four loft styles. A mezzanine floor with a queen-sized bed successfully separates the sleeping accommodation from the work/rest area. Both these rooms offer complementary unlimited Wi-Fi access, flat-screen LCD Television with entertainment and cable channels, tea- and coffee-making facilities, mini refrigerator and in-room safe. Executive lofts, situated on the corners of the Studio M Hotel building, provide magnificent views from 3.8 meter bay windows and offer spacious accommodation with a work station and a queen sized bed, while the patio lofts, as the name implies, have the same amenities but with the addition of a balcony. Extra facilities for these larger lofts include a complimentary minibar (not replenished), free local calls, daily laundry service (up to two pieces), and late check-out up to 4 p.m.

Good hotel let down by wifi
The free wifi uses a login screen with each room having a password; either the wifi keeps dropping or it times out, as I kept having to enter my password over and over - infuriating. You then have to call front desk (and wait minutes for the call to be answered) to request a reset. Some consider free quality wifi a requirement and sadly this hotel disappoints. VPN/Skype users should look elsewhere.

Studio M Review 9-2--11
Nice, Quiet; Japanese style hotel with small rooms, 2 floors. All Showers and water is on the first floor. The queen size bed and Flat screen TV are on the upper floor. Excellent, full window view. If you do not like steps when getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bath room, you may want to investigate another hotel. Breakfast is excellent. Staff is excellent. About a 20 minute walk to the nearest MRT (either Clarke Quay or Chinatown). Fantastic for restaurants since it is 2 minute from Robertson Quay & Robertson Walk. Excellent place to stay if you love to walk. You are less than 30 minutes from Orchard road, 20 minutes from the Singapore History Museum.

Good over all experience, and
Good over all experience, and a great concept which i will highly recommend. However a few small issues which will ultimately prevent it from becoming a top notch hotel. a) Hotel guests get free parking which is a deciding factor when i chose studio M. However at 10pm the lobby parking was full, and there was 5 slots 'reserved for management' - always empty- at the very front, which they could not even open up to me for an hour since i told them i was just dropping by the hotel for a moment. Being told parking next door will be reimbursed, it was also full. Just a shame that the employees and management are so rigid and unobliging. Resulting in me waiting in my car for 35 mins waiting for someone to leave... b) F&B: Standard of room service is terrible, comes in plastic tupperware with plastic cutlery. not a huge issue. Morning breakfast buffet is also very limited in choice.

The room itself is a fine, tiny
The room itself is a fine, tiny and clean. However, no much choice of dining, food and beverages. And the water pressure of the shower is very poor!!! Didn't enjoy bathing there.......... However, the staff are very nice, friend and efficient. Accommodated my request of changing room efficiently...!! I still believe it's a good hotel and might consider to stay there again when I visit Singapore again.
