Historic grand hotel offers unsurpassed style and service
Opened in 1887 by the founder of modern Singapore, Sir Stamford Raffles, Raffles Hotel was declared a National Monument in 1987. It is a jewel in the crown of Singapore’s hospitality industry and is renowned and loved worldwide for its style and excellent service. Raffles Hotel has been immortalized in the novels of Somerset Maugham and Rudyard Kipling, and its colonial-styled architecture and lush tropical gardens offer a memorable experience. Nearby are the banking and financial districts, Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SICEC), as well as the casino at Marina Bay, Arab Street and Chinatown.

All of Raffles Hotel's Courtyard and Palmcourt suites have 14-foot ceilings with ceiling fan and are divided into four rooms: a parlour and dining area, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. Facilities include air conditioning, Internet access, 24-hour butler service, room safe, kettle, bathrobe, cable / satellite TV, valet service, modem/data port connection, ensuite/private bathroom, hairdryer, cutlery/crockery and radio.
The earthy décor of the two-story Long Bar, home of the Singapore Sling cocktail, was inspired by the Malayan plantations of the 1920s. Every alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoction imaginable is available, as well as traditional pub fare. In the evening, a band performs a selection of contemporary and popular hits. The famous Singapore Sling Glasses and Sling Shakers are also available for purchase.
Guests can rejuvenate their mind, body and soul at the Raffles Amrita Spa, with a range of massage and spa treatments that includes Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, foot or back massage and relaxing 2-hour body polish. Shirodhara incorporates running a stream of warm oil onto the “third eye” and a gentle head massage, perfect for sinusitis and insomnia. The Abhyanga massage, best done in the mornings, is a method of Ayurveda using a blend of heated herbal oils, liberally applied on the body which stimulates vital points and enhances the flow of energy. he Palm Court Suites borders one side of the Hotel's main building. Simplicity and serenity is implicit in the Palm Court, with ample walkways of crushed pebbles and rows of tall palm trees lining the sides of the garden. The Palm Court's large expanse of greenery sets the sublime mood for all of the Hotel facilities and its use is restricted to the Hotel residents. 12 of the 103 suites at Raffles Hotel have been named after personalities who were associated with the Hotel in its early heyday. These suites are distinguished by the special memorabilia displayed within each one, acquired when the Hotel was closed for restoration from March 1989 to September 1991. The 10 with a king bed are: Somerset Maugham, Ava Gardner, Charlie Chaplin, James Michener, Gavin Young, Noel Coward, John Wayne, Joseph Conrad, Rudyard Kipling, John Thomson. Relaxing getaway

The staff is wonderful. The hotel is a classic and it feels like going back 100 years into the past - but still being in the modern world. I will be back for more
