Very pleased with room, as has been renovated since I was there last time. Some renovations still going on, but staff made sure it didn't bother me. Excellent value for money with location & service. I am going back in a few weeks and will stay there again.

It was good, nice room in the
It was good, nice room in the penisular wing. i stayed in the other wing once before but penisular wing is a lot better than excelsior wing. Staying again next week.

Overall had good impression. However
Overall had good impression. However there are some problems. Even though the rooms have been recently renovated, there are some problems with the bathroom design (impossible to take a shower without water splashing all over the bathroom). There were also defects (some water leaks from the pipe on the floor when flushing water in the toilet). New large LCD TVs installed but the reception is very poor, so 90% of the chanels can't be watched. Also limited number of channels on TV.

Nice room, great location, internet access costly, breakfast not included in room rate, S$12 beers at "happy hour" seem overpriced, as is much of the menu.

General impression of the service
General impression of the service personnel - they seemed like they can't wait to get rid of you. Is it because of the "heavy traffic" or the "tiresome" standard operating procedures, I wonder? Key cards with security features - supposed to give peace of mind. But performance is quite inconsistent, so much so that one can never be sure one can get back to one's floor and one's room once one is out of the room. Defeats the purpose, ain't it? Housekeeping - Had hot water supply problem on first day here, and was taught lesson 101 about the using of the hot water tap by the housekeeping staff as if I have never use a hot water bath before. Later, I was told (after I called to check again, not that they called back to explain) that it was due to maintenance work going on. Eventually got hot water in the evening.
