A Memorable Stay. No Doubt.

Would recommend Sun, May 24, 2015
The staff were very pleasant and professional at the reception and bell service. The best breakfast buffet we've had with many choices of food and fruits. Make your own omelette and coffee. Plus the staff at the buffet are all very responsive to our request. The room is big enough for the 2 of us and the wi-fi was very strong. I'm glad we can watch CNN and CNBC while here in Singapore. Purchase of the crystal club membership is a must if one wants to enjoy the additional perk of staying in this hotel.

Would recommend Mon, Nov 17, 2014
Excellent all the way around, fantastic courteous staff, excellent amenities, close to everything, walking distance close! About a 20 min walk to the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands, Raffles City, and amazing food and shopping! A+++

Dining

Lau Pa Set. Ask any of the locals about lau pa set, and they'll tell you how to get to it. Amazing food and great atmosphere! Make sure to try the "Satay"! Another place you must try is Din Tai Fung. It is at Raffles City. World Renown Cuisine! Try the dumplings!

Very nice comfort for a great Price

Would recommend Tue, May 20, 2014
This has been one of the best value stays I have experienced in a long while. The price was for an average 3 star hotel in the heart of a big city, but the amenities, although aging, are pristine and up to par of a four or even five star hotel. Service was great, and I struggle to find any complaint.

Time saver

Head out the back door in order to shorten your walk to the Metro

Highs and Lows of my three days in Singapore

Would recommend Wed, Nov 20, 2013
The location was great and the fact our conference was held in the same location made it great. No taxi fees and no issues with the rain. The intermitted electric surges in the hotel room was a real low. Power would go off of everything except the 'safety' lights for about 2 minutes and then roll back on. Not a big issue most of the time and EACH and EVERY time I called to report it, an electrician would arrive at my room, often after the situation had corrected itself. Missing a few minutes of TV was not a big deal. Being wet in the shower and having the bathroom go pitch black did concern me, The power rolled backed on as soon I got on a robe and made my way to the telephone so no need to call the front office again. This is the good point - outstanding lunch buffet. Amazing amount of food and most of it healthy. I'd stay again but if I had a power issues,I would ask for a new room asap instead of dealing with it each day.

Self-paid business stay

Would recommend Sat, Apr 13, 2013
The hotel brings all that one expects from this category, nothing exceptional but a solid very good experience. Excellent value for money, a strong consideration when one has to balance budget vs. convenience.

Attractions

Fort Canning park is just accross the street, an excellent way to re-charge batteries even for a short half an hour in between meetings.

Very good hotel, but if you like watching tv or using the internet, beware.

Would recommend Fri, Aug 10, 2012
The good: helpful staff, fantastic location, very clean and pleasant atmosphere. The mediocre: small but functional gym (only one elliptical), limited channel selection on the tv, and no movies at all. The disappointing: the gym apparently closes at 10pm, but this not posted anywhere. I wouldn't mind if I knew, but it is unpleasant to be kicked out in the middle of a workout without warning. Also, on their website, it says "free internet, breakfast and laundry services." What that means is some rooms include the price of internet (but not always), breakfast is available, but overpriced, and laundry services are appallingly expensive. I find their statement misleading. Also, the internet was almost unusable it was so slow. It had a hard time loading images, let alone anything with animations or video, so I could not get tv or movies online, either. I was there for 10 days, so I know it was not just a one-day issue, too. I was still happy overall, but there were a few minor annoyances, like the lack of entertainment due to very limited tv channels and unusable internet, that one does not expect at a 5-star hotel.

Dining

Don't bother with the hotel food or going to chijmes (a nearby western-style restaurant court). You will eat far better food at any of the sketchy-looking foodcourts in the nearby shopping malls, on street corners, or in the subway stops. Don't be afraid: sanitation standards in singapore are incredibly high, with strict penalties for violating them, so everything is safe to eat. Also, vegetarians, rejoice! Virtually every foodcourt has a stall that sells strictly vegetarian faire (though much of it looks disturbingly like meat - its amazing what they can do with soybeans), and it is really excellent stuff! My best meals in singapore cost less than 3 dollars.

Perfect Business Hotel

Would recommend Fri, Jun 29, 2012
The hotel is centrally located with the MRT close at hand. Rooms are clean and comfortable but perhaps a little overpriced for what you receive. There was a certain musty smell from the bathroom area but it did not affect the overall ambience of the room. Wi-fi worked well and the in-room coffee and tea facilities were a welcome touch. The swimming pool and gym area were well-maintained. They offered a respite to the humidity and were used frequently by many guests. All in all, it's a comfortable business hotel with a great location that you pay a premium for.

Dining

Enjoy your chilli crabs in hawker centres as you will receive far more value for your money. Be wary of any place offering seasonal prices on seafood as they can decide how much to charge day-by-day.
