Good clean hotel: inexpensive, too!
The hotel is a little way out of the centre but is en route to/fro Changi Airport. It's just off the very busy Geylang Rd on a quiet one-way street called Lorong 14 (Alley 14). For orientation there's a small park at the intersection of the alley and the road. There are very good train and bus connections to the CBD within easy walking distance. I enjoyed taking the No. 2 bus into the centre for S$1: it follows a scenic straight route passing several of the train stations on the East-West line (incl. Bugis, Lavender, Kallang) passing through the Colonial Core and then going on to Chinatown. There are other bus options, too, from the centre to close to the hotel. My room was small but clean, quiet and well appointed with sealed cups of drinking water and an electric jug provided. No fridge or tea bags, though, but sachets of powdered Singaporean-style coffee set out each day; I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. The air-con was efficient and quiet enough to leave on overnight. The en-suite bathroom matched the room in size and had a good shower (albeit without a curtain). The staff were helpful and friendly enough. Whilst the hotel is in the red light district of Geylang, I didn't feel this encroached in any way. I probably wouldn't have twigged but for it being described in my guide book! In fact, it's a really interesting quarter, full of character and interest, and reflects much more the original urban landscape of Singapore. It's neither spotless nor immaculately maintained (unlike so much of modern Singapore) but it has the feel of authenticity. The only thing to watch out for are the open, unfenced stormwater drains on the side of some of the roads. I fell into one coming home late at night when I didn't spot it in the dark. No harm done but it did give me a bit of a shock!

The location was what I expected
The location was what I expected and having read about here (red light district). What really got to me was "bed bugs"; there were literally tens of small insects (like mosquito, but about one tenth of the size) all over the room... mostly in the bathroom, but present everywhere else including in the bed. The staff were very friendly, but I will not stay here again even if I have to pay a few dollars more.

Possibly the worst hotel that
Possibly the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in my life. This is not a place to stay if you want to enjoy. The rooms are cramped and the space is only enough for the bed. Think again. Good luck

I didn't like the fact that I could not find out from the listing that it is a non-smoking hotel, would have avoided it otherwise. Location-wise, I did not like that there were hookers just on the opposite side of the street waiting for customers, but everything else was pretty good.

There were cockroaches in the rooms. Even I changed to other rooms, I still found cockroaches again. The location is a bit far away from Kallang MRT Stn if you walk to the hotel. If you take a bus, it's OK and takes about 5-8 mins. The manager's attitude was good but one of the staff (a woman ) was not patient.
