Amara Singapore's refurbished rooms include Deluxe, Executive and Club rooms and suites by hospitality design specialist HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates. This 392-room flagship hotel is located at the heart of Singapore's financial and business district, and borders the award-winning conservation sites of Singapore's historic Chinatown. Away from the hubris of inner city living, the lobby is a welcome oasis of minimalist charm and space. To cater to business dining and the comfort of our guests, there are eight iconic signature collection of restaurants and bars within the hotel featuring leading menus and kitchens from these parts. The Silk Road and Thanying are fine-dining restaurants with original provincial Chinese and authentic royal Thai cuisine. Cafe Oriental, designed after a 1950s Chinese coffee shop, offers authentic Singaporean dishes 24 hours daily while Alphabet Bar offers a vast selection of wines. Hyangtogol, offering Korean fare, and Shun Ka Shuu Tou, featuring Japanese cuisine, complete the palate. Bar-Roque Grill, a modern rotisserie and bar, features a French-inspired menu. Guests can also enjoy an open-air tennis court, a contemporary Balinese-style resort pool and spa, while surrounded by delightful local retail shops and one of the city's business district MRT stations at Tanjong Pagar. For the convention and event planner, the Grand Ballroom at Amara Singapore can accommodate up to 500 delegates. The ceiling is lined with fibre optic lights that resemble a constellation of stars. Perfect for power meetings, seminars, weddings, exhibitions or private receptions, our four function rooms, each equipped with the latest audio-visual facilities, can be arranged in different configurations to suit any event. Catering for these events and meetings will be a delightful experience as renowned, award-wining chefs plan and prepare your international feasts, according to your preference. Children Notice Breakfast for children aged 6 to 12 will be chargeable at S$15.00++ which is payable upon check-out

Enjoyable Stay

From check-in to check-out, the stay was outstanding. We have even rebooked for our next stay because it is nearly a straight train ride from the airport (just 1 transfer) and the location of the hotel in relation to the train station was 2-5 min walk, depending upon your pace... In house bar, was a nice place to end the evening from runing around Singapore. Staff were very professional and especially helpful.

Just OK for the price.

Stayed here for a total of 3 nights. Overall the experience was just "OK", but for the price I paid I consider this place a steal compared to other hotels in singapore. The room was a little bit worn and the bathrooms were not supplied with hand towels which was a major downside. I'd recommend for anyone just looking for a basic place to crash in a decently located part of town.

Nice lobby but rooms need refurbishing

[...]Rooms are small and in need of refurbishment. The pool area however is very pleasant with a great pool. Location is not brilliant though as most sights are some distance away. Being close to Chinatown was good and was a 10min walk from the hotel through a fairly 'local' neighbourhood. In all an OK hotel but not one I would rush back to.

Terrific location, wonderful service

Truly felt welcomed by the kind staff. Very quiet - thought there must not be many people around me, but learned that the hotel was 100% full. Two great food courts next to it, one on fourth floor of connecting building and another across the street. Good restaurants in the hotel, of course. Close to the MRT metro train station, and just a short, pleasant walk to China Town. I wold definitely stay here again. Internet access was too pricey, though - 29/day (about US$22). Main problem for me is that beds were fairly hard - had to adjust my sleeping style, but that was OK.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go across the street to the food courts there. Cheap. Also try the fourth floor of the adjoining building, above the 1st floor Burger King in the adjoining building - no need to step outside.

Amara Hotel Singapore

The hotel is clean, quiet, and in a good location - especially for business travellers that need to visit certain Singapore Government locations. Nice pool and outdoor recreation area. Courteous staff. The hotel run restaurant (Element) is not up-to-par. There are several private restaurants in the vicinity that look decent.
