Bay Gardens Hotel

We were upgraded to a Croton Suite (Large Kitchen/Diner/Sitting Room, separate Bedroom and Bathroom) which was spacious and well equipped, save for a mystifying lack of forks in cutlery drawer... 2 pools (1 very small, both quite shallow), beautifully maintained gardens and grounds. Whole hotel clean and well painted, room likewise, though some room fittings getting a little tired. Good value and excellent location for eating out, bars, shopping and free minibus to the linked Beach Resort Hotel.

We were expecting a lot more than what we got for what we paid. The 2 swimming pools were very tiny and the hot tub wasn't even working. One of the bars was closed and our view was of a hotel abandoned mid-construction. I spent part of my day locked in a bathroom by the pool and was rescued by a fellow guest not a staff member. And forget about printing your boarding pass...there's no printer connected to the computer that they allow guests to use. Its not the worst place we've ever been but not one of the best either. Stay at the Bay Gardens Resort. Its much nicer and the beach is right at your doorstep.

I booked a Standard Room and found it to be very adequate. It was spacious enough for 2 with a king sized bed, there was a mini fridge in the room also and the usual tea and coffee supplies. The room itself was very clean, the only issue was the shower which seemed to have a leak somewhere so water did settle at the bottom of the door. The location is fantastic as it is right next door to a large supermarket and other shopping facilities and restaurants. Another plus is the free shuttle which takes you to the Bay Gardens Beach Resort where you can enjoy the beach, water sports and hotel amenities. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for those on a budget looking to explore and enjoy the beautiful island of St.Lucia.

Myself and my husband arrived on Christmas Day 2011, to find a very helpful and efficient staff waiting for us. We were shown to our clean and spacious room and hotel facilities were explained. During the 12 nights that we were there, we spent much of the time on the beach of the sister hotel, where we were able to use all the facilities. The Bay garden Hotel is very conveniently located for all that Rodney bay has to offer in the evenings. Ideal hotel for couples, families, and singles whether you want to relax or party. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and will definitely go back to the Bay Gardens in the future.

Just got back from an amazing holiday in St.Lucia. Bay Gardens Hotel has all the basic necessities: a clean bed & bath. The hotel has free wi-fi , its not the fastest, but I did use it to make calls on skype and it worked ok. The hotel is located very close to a supermarket and all rooms have a fridge. There is no safe in the room - I locked stuff in my luggage and it was fine. The advantage at staying at the hotel is you can use the shuttle service from the Bay Gardens Hotel to the Bay Gardens Beach Resort, thats right on the beach. The shuttle is not very reliable though. You can even walk , it is about 10 - 15 mins. At the beach resort just tell them you are from the hotel and they will give you a tag and you can use facilities at the resort like the beach chairs ! They have a Manager's Cocktail Party at the Resort for all Bay Gardens guests on Wednesday and at the hotel on Thursday. Free drinks and a good live band. Life in St. Lucia is very slow paced and no one is in a hurry, so you must not expect prompt service. I love the location of the hotel, it is close to the supermarket, the bank , the bus stop and rodney bay for restaurants. We hiked the Gros Piton, did some ziplining in Dennery at Treetop Adventure, rented a car and drove around the beautiful island and chilled at the beach with some rum punch! All in all it was an amazing holiday, met some nice people and had some good Lucian food!

Great value for the price. Rooms were of similar quality of family owned hotels in Florida, while this is in a MUCH lesser developed country. Room was clean, no bugs inside but not well soundproofed from the chirping ones at night (rainforest country). Internet worked most of time. Rooms next to bar are less private/quiet. Good location close to shops and the tourist restaurants/bars. Utilized the pool during some of the days and it was peaceful/clean. The view at the Bay Gardens Resort beach down the road is incredible. Shuttle runs between them every hour, 15 min walk or $5 cab ride.

The hotel was very well-run and the staff were very attentive and charming. I would definitely stay there again.

Good location for shopping at Rodney Bay. Room was clean. AC did not work very well. Two of our party woke up with several bites from something. Taxi stand right outside the front.
