We'd go back
The Rex isn't fancy, but you get a great value and it was MUCH nicer than we'd expected. The location is amazing. The food is quite good and the hobie cat sailing is outstanding. Most of the staff are wonderful.. Megan, Veronica, Marina, Katherine, Lee and Tim at the bar, Wendy in housekeeping and the front desk staff were great. A few of the younger staff are quite rude and management should suggest they improve their attitude or find a job they like. We would go back in a heartbeat. It's a great place

Take a day boat trip with Quincy. His boat, Rule the Tide, was a great experience, learning about the history, snorkeling, and seeing beautiful sites.... Under $80 a person for a full day ..... He just shows up on the beach.

Great Location Awesome Hotel
If your looking for a 5 star super fancy hotel this place is probably not for you. My girlfriend and I planned a trip to St. Lucia and wanted a relaxing nice hotel in a good location. This place was absolutly perfect for us! It's located "literally" on reduit beach. The dining area and bar is about 20 feet from the water. If you time it right you will probably watch some of the most beautiful sunsets of your life while eating dinner. The hotel is a bit older and showed some signes of wear but it did not bother us at all. The location is perfect if you want a place on the beach that is also walking distance to most all the bars in Rodney Bay. The all inclusive package is well worth the extra money especially if you plan to drink. On a couple of our days there we posted up on the beach and took turns walking Mai tais and pina coladas down from the bar to the sand, all of 30 feet away. The staff is all very friendly. Look for Lex and Timmothy, they are all time bartenders and great people that we met there. If im ever in St Lucia again this is where i will be staying again.:)

comfortable stay
Staff very helpful, food was good, shopping close by around the hotel ,walking distance to other resterants and bars outside of the hotel also you can walk down beach for different food places. Beach was nice. overall we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was an older place so rooms were a bit dated but comfortable and clean. Had many sitting areas around hotel and bar and beach area. Staff were very helpful. If you wanted to try different things on the island or tours. I would recommend place.Good value and good starting point to learn the Island,

Great Location for Beach and Unwinding
The room was extremely clean, yet ordinary. Wifi worked throughout the resort and hotel. The sink in my room would never drain without a great deal of manipulation. Food was very good and got better closer to the weekend. There are not many things to do pertaining to nightlife at the hotel nor around the hotel. However, on the weekends things do become more lively. This is a great place to stay to unwind, enjoy the beach and really feel like you are in St. Lucia.

Excellent Location but Hotel needs renovation...
Friendly staff, great beach front location, walking distance to pubs, clubs, shopping and restaurants. The hotel has all inclusive option but it needs to have a better variety of international foods on buffet. Also for some reason the crowd at the time we stayed was above 50 yrs. old and extremely BORING! So if you are below 40 yrs. old you will find that most of the people vacationing there are old, grumpy and not fun, but like I said the staff is great, bartenders are friendly and made me laugh the whole time so I guess that made up for the old rude people that were there...by the way I'm 36, so not too young but not old either and I like to have a good time so i was a bit bummed about the place not being more lively.....

Great value for the money
Place is a little dated, and definitely not for the uppity folks out there that can afford to burn cash to heat their homes, but for most of us looking for a great value, this is it. Rooms are updated, clean and adequate. Food and drinks are good and conveniently offered. Location is the star of the show here. This is the best stretch of beach on the island and, in my opinion, Rodney Bay is the best location on the island. The newer big pool with swim-up bar at the older end of the resort is very nice. Unfortunately, all of the rooms in this area have been closed for some time, awaiting renovations. Such a great location, hopefully this place isn't left to deteriorate even more. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Shout out to our favorite girl - Shanelle! Bottom line is this - if money is no object to you, go waste your hard-earned cash at Sandals, Body Holiday, or a Windjammer type resort. If you are coming to St. Lucia for the scenery, beaches, weather, etc and care about getting value out of your dollar - this is your place.

wonderful
The experience was beautiful; the beach, the sea perfect. The food was always full of variety and very good. The all-inclusive package was ideal. The only minor negative was the people on the beach trying to sell things, at times annoying.
