Another highly recommended 'mini-hotel', with an excellent location. A traditional building, like most buildings in this very attractive and picturesque area. The hotel is located in a small private courtyard. The hotel is situated on the river Moika embankment, just off Nevskij Prospekt in the historical and cultural centre of St. Petersburg. Palace Square, the Hermitage and Kazan Cathedral are all within 10 minutes walking distance.

The size of the rooms vary, but all rooms are generally medium sized. They are simply but tastefully decorated and are in a very good condition. All rooms have a safe.

There are several Nevsky Hotels in St Petersburg. Moyka 5 is one of them. We arrived and at first the place seemed nice. We were told our room would be ready in 30 minutes and it took almost an hour. Upon entering the room, we almost gagged. The
smell of the room was awful. We immediately complained and had the manager come up to our room. They agreed the room did not smell good at all. They had no more rooms left so they said we can have a room in another hotel. After already paying 500 rubles by taxi to get to this hotel, they said they would call us a cab but it wouldn't get there for another 30 minutes. So at that point we had to bring all our own luggage and walk it to the next hotel. The hotel we went to next was Aster. This location was much better, close to Nevsky street, but the room was extremely small, and the bed caved in from so much previous use,and they tried to cover it with a mattress pad. In addition the bathroom was dirty and the floor was not vacuumed. We asked for the room to be cleaned the next day as normal, and the bathroom remained dirty and the floor un-vacuumed for the next 4 days we stayed there.
The people were helpful, but the hotel chain has some serious cleanliness issues and the room quality is pretty awful. All in all, spend the extra $10 USD per night and get a nicer hotel, and after witnessing 2 of the 8 hotels of the Nevsky Hotel chain,we will not use any of this Hotel chain again.

Two sticks is a great sushi place on Nevsky just around the corner. Hooligans is right across the street from the hotel and has a great selection of beer.

Super small rooms
This was the SMALLEST hotel room I have ever stayed in. It basically felt like a hostal - except the cost was significantly higher than what you would pay for a hostal. Also, the elevator didn't work so we had to climb 4 stories to the
room.
Breakfast and service left much to be desired, but on the plus side, Moyka 5 was in a great location.

Just what we needed
The Moyka 5 Hotel in St. Petersberg, Russia, was a small European hotel within a five-minute walk of the Hermitage Art Museum and the Neva River. The room was small by American standards but very adequate. If I were to return to St.
Petersberg, I would be sure to stay there again.

Super Lage, ganz nah bei den Sehenswuerdigkeiten. Zimmer fuer zwei Personen eher klein, aber sehr praktisch eingerichtet. Freundliches Personal.
