great choice

The hotel turned out to be so good that we extended our stay for two more nights. Got a much better room&rate for the extension, perhaps because it was during the week rather than weekend. Anyways, ask the receptionist for the best available rate ;)

Quirky and lovely

I stayed here for two weeks and the value for the dollar was great. The hallway is a little dark, the elevator is a little small, the staff is a little hit and miss on who speaks English and how much, but overall it was a very positive experience and I would stay there again and recommend it without hesitation. The breakfast is as much and more than many American budget hotels. The rooms are small and sparse like you might get in NYC, but clean and comfortable certainly. I don't understand why they can't just hang a light by the entrance door in the hallway - it would enrich the whole experience enormously.

Right across the street one way is a fun funky little hookah bar/restaurant with good interesting food, and the little cafe (cafeteria style) on the other corner is also a great deal for the price. Very typical of how the locals eat.

Not really a hotel. Stay away.

I request that this company not list this terrible place on its search engine. Despite a good location, the hotel is not really as much as a hotel as a place for staff to hang out. Guests just seem to interfere with their lives. The photograph of the front of the building has nothing to do with the pitiful hutch of rooms that lurk at the back of this tenement. The corridor leading from the street to the elevator is completely dark. The elevator itself is something that you might use to haul cement bags up, not people. At reception I was ignored for three hours until it was proper time to check in, even though rooms were available. I didn't become a human until that time, apparently. This is below the worst standard of guest treatment I have ever encountered. One has to sight a pledge that you won't destroy the room or raid the refrigerator that is clearly marked "for staff only." Nice touch. This business should not be patronized for any reason. Please stay away.

Great Stay!

My wife and I were concerned that for such a great price we would be in a lesser hotel, we were so wrong! We had to pleasure of having the best view! We booked a comfort room with a double bed and we stayed in the room with the balcony! We will certainly be staying in this hotel next time we visit St. Petersburg. The hotel staff was very polite and friendly. We felt very safe in this hotel as well. The location couldn't have been better! We were a 60 second walk from Nevsky Prospect, a 10 minute walk from the rail station, 5 minutes to nearest metro station, and 3 minutes from nearest bus stop. We will definitely be back in Saint Petersburg soon, there is so much to see and we wish that we stayed longer than 2 nights and three days! Next time we will stay for at least 5 days 4 nights!

MarketPlace is a buffet style resturant with such an incredible view, directly across the street from Kazan Cathedral. The food was delicious, as was the beer. For two people, our meal cost around 700 rubles (about 25 USD), we had two beers and enjoyed a feast of salads, meats, cheese, deserts, and pasta!

A budget hotel in a good location

Five/seven mnts. walk from Metro station, nice central location but difficult to locate because there are no proper signboard at the gate. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the building having a very small elevator. Staff is friendly & English speaking. Breakfast is very basic, but Subway & macdonald's are a stone's throw away.

Stay away!

This is a horrible hotel. As soon as you enter the hotel, you see a dark corridor and an elevator that can barely fit 1 person and 1 suitcase. The whole corridor smelled of urine and smoke. When we checked in they had hot-water problem and they asked us to move to another hotel 10 mins away. So we had to lug our luggage to this new hotel. That hotel was even worse than this one, with no elevator and a horrible vomit/urine smell. You have to carry your luggage to the 5th floor. The room was no better. It smelled so bad and I had to keep the windows open for hours before I could stay in the room. The only good part about this hotel is the location. It is right on Nevsky Prospect. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NO STAY AT THIS HOTEL OR ANY OF THE OTHER ACME PROPERTIES. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I am actually upset with orbiz for listing such a horrible hotel on their website.
