Reasonable and Adequate
We were there 6 nights. Location was perfect for us. Hermitage and several famous cathedrals within walking distance. We only used public tranportation to go to Peterhof. Staff was helpful and Spoke English fairly well. Breakfast was adequate. Room was fairly clean and recently updated. Stairwell and main entrance were run down, but didn't affect our stay negatively. The only thing I would do different is skip the night boat ride to see the bridges, I think the view would have been similarly good from the Neva river banks...and you are free to leave after pictures and a few lingering glances. Also check out sunset from St. Isaacs cathedral collade!

Demidov Bridge
This was my first visit to St. Petersburg. Demidov Hotel fit my needs perfectly. It is close to the downtown and sightseeing areas, and is 1 block from the Metro and market area. It is easy to locate, right at the Demidov Bridge. My room was spotless and comfortble, including the toilet and bath. The front desk was polite and helpful, certainly by Russian standards. I would stay at the Demidov again if I ever return to St. Petersburg. There is only one confusing thing. This hotel is located on the 3rd floor of an old building being renovated. The street entrance is a single reinforced steel door that is not clearly marked. This does not look like a hotel from the street. But do not worry about this. The hotel is completely safe, clean and quiet, and I was completely satisfied with my time there.

bon rapport qualité prix
Très bien situé (métro), quartier convivial. Chambre propre et confortable, jolie vue sur le canal. Hôtel très calme. 2 seuls bémols, les égouts refoulent dc parfois légères mauvaises odeurs. Et pas de pancarte "ne pas déranger" dc réveillé par les femmes de ménage les jours où je dormais + tard.
