I was traveling from Chicago to stay in Moscow for 2 nights during my business trip. I found it pleasantly surprising that my Russian counterparts paid double the amount I paid for the same room. Usually it's the other way around for foreigners visiting Russia. The service was outstanding. I enjoyed my clean and quiet room. Easy to use windows are very nice if you are addicted to fresh air like I am. My cell phone is locked to US carrier so I found the room phone service to be very useful and inexpensive in addition to fast and free wireless internet wich I used with my notebook. And generous delicious breakfast was another pleasant surprise that I discovered during my stay in Maxima Irbis hotel.

Friendly, helpful English-speaking staff
The room was average size and comfortable and clean. The food was great in the restaurant. A 4 star breakfast only lacking omelets to order was provided. The bathroom was large and clean with a great shower. The best part was one of the girls at the front desk. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting taxis and directions. We were only a couple of blocks from the Underground that took us downtown. Good quiet location. We needed rest after traveling the Trans Siberian Railway from Beijing to Moscow August 2008.

Good for foreign travelers
The Maxima Irbis was a very clean, well maintained hotel. The only negatives were the beds were a little hard and you had to call the front desk to order a hairdryer, and one wasn't always available. The staff spoke English, but at times it was difficult to communicate effectively. Internet access was inexpensive and easy, and the breakfast was tasty and filling, with a variety of foods available. It was a five minute walk to the metro, which was inexpensive, fast, and efficient. Overall, the Irbis was well located, clean, updated, and a good value.

On the way to the Metro, there was a large market with many vendors where you can shop. Bring paper and penicil to communicate price, as most vendors don't speak English.

Bien qu'un peu éloigné du centre
Bien qu'un peu éloigné du centre ville, cet hôtel répond parfaitement aux critères auxquels on peut prétendre en fonction de sa catégorie. Dans la description de l'hôtel il serait bon d'ajouter le nom de la station de métro la plus proche. Elle se trouve à 5 à 6 minutes de marche, et le métro atteint la Place Rouge rapidement après un changement de ligne. Même si la majorité des clients se déplace en taxis, beaucoup sont intéressés par la possibilité d'utiliser les transports en commun, comme les bus qui permettent d'admirer le paysage urbain et d'avoir une bonne approche de la vie quotidienne des habitants.

Hotel grundsätzlich ok Frühstück
Hotel grundsätzlich ok Frühstück ebenfalls. Lage eigentlich völlig unattraktiv aber gemessen an den völlig überhöhten Zimmerpreisen in Moskau ebenfalls in Ordnung
