- Close by to Hotel: The Arbat is a pedestrian street in the historical centre of Moscow and its true symbol. The Arbat has existed at least since the 15th century, thus laying claim to being one of the oldest surviving streets of the Russian capital. It forms the heart of the Arbat District of Moscow. The Bolshoi Theatre is a historic theatre in Moscow, designed by the architect Joseph Bov, which holds performances of ballet and opera. The Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera are amongst the oldest and greatest ballet and opera companies of the world. The New Bolshoi Theatre, adjacent to the original and built incredibly in only six months, continues to stage an extensive repertory of concerts and performances. Red Square is the most famous city square in Moscow surrounded on one side by the Kremlin walls and Lenin tomb and on the other by GUM, a world-famous collection of shops and boutiques.
