Prison Cell Glamor
The standard rooms are small, dark and the bed is the size of a prison cot. It is clean, modern, minimalist, and tolerable if you can get the super saver rate that I got that included a truly gourmet breakfast. Most of the staff speaks English and is helpful. The location is safe and near a major metro station and a supermarket. The gourmet breakfast buffet is excellent, but was included in my super saver rate....but based on the room service menu charge of 1090 rubles for a hamburger plus 18% VAT and 10% service charge, I assume extremely expensive.

Deluxe room makes all the Difference
My second visit here in a Deluxe room with a queen size bed made all the difference compared to the prison cots in the prison cell size standard rooms. Lighting was better with 3 large windows facing the street. Housekeeping was even better here...refilled and replaced soaps, etc. My super saver rate included great gourmet breakfast, but extremely expensive room service menu. The minimalist decor works better in a larger room also. Full bath with shower/tub compared to small shower in standard rooms where you will bump your elbows on the shower walls and have to take your Moscow guidebook into the bathroom to see it due to the dim lighting in the room.

Full size supermarket up the street and around the corner has ready made salads, snacks, candy, water, soda, etc. You probably won't want to order the forty dollar hamburger when you can go to McDonald's nearby across from the Pushkinskaya metro station.

Nice modern hotel, great location
It's a nice small modern hotel very conveniently located - a short walk to subway and to the Pushkin Square and to Triumfalnaya Square. The place definitely has its own personality and is quite classy (but don't expect imperial stylization so popular in Moscow - the place is very much XXI century).
