Overall 2 thumps up!

I checked in to the hotel for a weekend. This hotel is located in the mist of the Doha’s growing west bay. Due to new construction around the hotel it is a little tricky to get to it, but the taxi drivers know how to get to it easily, but do not worry about noise from construction I didn’t hear a peep. I was a little annoyed when I pulled up to the hotel and the Valet just ignored me in the driveway, I had to get out and tell them I was checking in, only then they approached me to help with the luggage. As you enter the hotel, there is a Valet counter, and you kind of feel lost as to where the reception was. I had to ask where the reception was at the counter, and the personnel pointed at the direction I had to go. So to get to the Reception you had to walk through a hallway of elevators then a lobby and the reception was at the corner to the right. At the reception desk, I didn’t feel much welcomed; they could have smiled and have been more welcoming. The room was great! My room offered a great view of the city, and there was a very comfy ottoman couch situated next to the window, which I used just to sit and relax and view the Beautiful Doha, skyline. The room was a decent size with a great bathroom! The bath was big and had a toilet section with glass door, a big bath and sink area in the middle and a shower area to the other side. It was equipped with rain shower! I was very happy with the room. I ordered breakfast form the in room dining for the 2 days I was there. The breakfast was mediocre, but they were out of aloo paratha the first morning I was there but I got to have it the next day. The in room breakfast arrived in 30 minutes just as promised. For the 2 days I was there. The hotel has few restaurants to choose from one of which is Starta, a seafood restaurant and lounge situated on the 55th and 56th floor, offering stunning views of the city, the bay, and the pearl. It is just worth going just for the views. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and a health center, although i did not get a chance to visit it. I was able to check out late, my check out time was 12pm and they let me check out 2:00pm, when I called reception and asked politely. Overall a good hotel to stay at, although they can improve on customer service. The location is great with stunning views of the city! Its 10 minutes’ drive from everything, like the Katara, the pearl, the museum of Islamic art, and walking distance from the city center (mall).

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Doha is very expensive city, and if you need small items to purchase while your here for your trip, you should go to the Carrefour you could pretty much find everything you are looking for at a reasonable price. Carrefour is located at the city center mall, short walk from the hotel. There is also a movie theater in the if your interested in watching a movie while your here.
