An excellent trip
Our recent 6 night/5 day stay (4/4-4/10) at the Verdanza hotel couldn't have been much better. Our rom was clean, comfortable and the entire hotel staff were the friendliest, most courteous and accommodating of any group we have ever encountered in all our travels. One minor complaint.....The hotel is advertised as being across the stree from the beach. Sorry, not true. It is a long two 1/2 blocks away. Other than that, we enjoyed our Puerto Rican vacation immensely and would stay at the Verdanza again. Terry & Cristina Peckham Denver, Colorado

Good for a Last Minute Trip
The Holiday Inn San Juan was a good pick for a trip that was planned very last minute. It's very close to both the airport and the beach (just a two block walk) and also in walking distance of various bars along Isla Verde Avenue. The check-in/check-out and tourist/special activities desk were really helpful and the staffs as the hotels bars/restuarants were really friendly. While I only ate at two of the hotels three restuarant options, the food was very enjoyable. My only complaint was that the room never got cool enough for me and room service can be a little slow at times. Otherwise a satisfying stay. If you're looking for more beach and less casinos and heavy foot traffic this is a good place to stay. It takes a little longer to get to Old San Juan from here BUT it's a very direct route on the bus route, which is only a block away. The beach is beautiful by the way.

"Really liked this hotel"
This was our first time in Puerto Rico and we needed a hotel for just one night as we were traveling to the other side of the Island the next day. It was easy to get to from the Airport and we found it very nice and our overnight stay was very restful. We intend to go back to Puerto Rico and to see Old San Juan and would certainly stay at this property while there.

Great Trip!
The hotel staff were great. They were very friendly and helpful as to ideas of what to do in San Juan. The hotel was nice. It's not on the beach but you only need to walk 1 block to get there. The beach is peaceful and clean.

If you are looking for affordable and good Puerto Rican food go to "Mi Casita". The breakfast there was great!! The mofongos (loved the shirmp) were amazing as well. Also, when you go to San juan try "La Bombonera" on San Francisco St. and eat their Mayorcas... AMAZING!!! They were on Discovery Travel and we had to try them. :)
