The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel

Well it is a great misfortune that I had to suffer because of the miscommunication on the part of the hotel company and orbitz. I was a victim because orbitz failed to communicate to me that there was a hotel policy that required that a certain dollar amount had to be deposited per day during the duration in which I booked it for. Since ORBITZ did not know because the hotel did not communicate this valuable peace of information I had to suffer as a distraught victim of failure to communicate between these to companies. I showed up to the hotel expecting to get checked in and retire for the night after experiencing a 5 hour delay from my airline and what I got stuck with was an option to pay the deposit or find another hotel. So I am like I was never alerted of this alleged deposit during my booking and if I give the deposit then I will have no money to sustain myself while in PUERTO RICO. So I would not be able to eat or go on any of the excursions that was planned. So my choice was abruptly reduced to getting another hotel at 2200 hours. It took the orbitz representative close to three hours to find me another hotel with my standards as the RITZ-CARLTON as I so chose from the other hotels before picking the RITZ-CARLTON during my selection process for booking. The hotels that I chose were unaccommadating that were at my standards so I was further reduced to a hotel that was grossly substandard. So needless to say that my stay at the selected hotel was very very painstaking while I was in the beautiful ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO. I felt violated that I had to stay at such a hotel that I did because of miscommunication amongst these two companies. So this has left my trip a waste of time and an unhappy and unforgettable moment. I will no longer use ORBITZ in booking anything else or let my friends book anything through this company. No one should have to suffer in the manner in which I did because of failure to commnicate.

This hotel is definitely 5-stars. The service, rooms, location, atmosphere, spa and restaurants were all top shelf. There is no evening Salsa band or club at the Ritz but there is plenty of entertainment at other nearby hotels. Staff always greeted me by name which is incredible given the number of guests. I will definitely stay at the Ritz Carlton on my next visit to San Juan. Fabulous!

The service and hospitality were 2nd to none. As soon as I arrived on the property, the valet, the concierge, the front desk staff, were all very welcoming and made sure to address me by name. Everyone employee at the hotel really understands what delivery of outstanding customer service means and I never felt neglected one bit. The pool attendants always made sure I had plenty of towels or if I needed anything were quick to address. Very engaging and they made me feel like they were genuinely interested in what I had to stay. They gym and spa were great. A bit crowded in regards to space but full service none the less. The spa attendant was very informative and gave me great tips on do's and don'ts if I was planning on any treatments. I love the availability of fresh fruit all over the hotel. As a Weight Watchers subscriber, this was great to see. My only complaint if any, was that the food servers by the pool area need to focus on making the rounds to the guest a bit more. I could have easily ordered a few more cocktails had I seen my server a bit more frequently. Definitely planning on coming back to San Juan and will only stay at the Ritz Carlton. Thanks for a great vacation.

the people was very nice i could not have been treated any better.the housekeeping of the room was great great great.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times before and each time I do, I am reminded why. The staff is very courteous, remembered me and made me feel at home. The spa is amazing…had the best massage and best pedicure of my life. If you are a tennis pro, Kamil Assad is very passionate about the game. I watched him play with well seasoned tennis players as well as beginners and was equally enthusiastic about the lesson.

The Ritz-Carlton experience is always similar around the world. I chose the hotel because their beds are always a pleasure to sleep in with all the pillows and linens. Of course, service is always a draw, as well as the fine dining that is offered. Overall, the Ritz-Carlton experience is always very enjoyable.

Everything was lovely except there must be mold in the ice lines , I could not order a drink with ice in it because it tasted like mold. The food in every restaurant was horrible,almost inedible. I have never experienced bad food at a RC in any city.

Loved the hotel...clean, spacious room, attentive staff, and the beautiful private beach. It would've been nice if they have a restaurant that is more geographically influenced. They have Il Mulino and BLT Steak, and I am from New York, and we ave those two restaurants where I live. I was in Puerto Rico, and I wanted to taste Puerto Rico.

Nice location. I arranged day adventures/tour prior to my vacation via the internet. The casino is very small. The BLT Restaurant was the very best value for your money. Taxi service is VERY expensive. Usually $20 into old San Juan, and of course $20 upon return

The hotel is great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would return in the future.
