More of a romantic getaway than for nightlife
Beautiful hotel and pool and ocean area. Hotel provides free bottled water (as much as you like) and towels and lounge chairs. The drink and food prices are a bit steep but you are free to bring stuff from the outside if you want to make it more affordable. There is little nightlife at hotel, so you will have to go out. El San Juan hotel is around the corner. There are some piano bar musicians but it is passive if you are looking for more, such as if you are going with friends. Casino is nice with table games but small.

Spectacular pool and service!
Very family friendly resort. Pool area was amazing and pool food menu was much better than most hotels. The staff was very attentive and friendly, always greeting people with a smile and hello. Everything we asked for (extra blankets, tv issue) was taken care of right away. Wish there were a few more casual dining options for dinner. BLT steak was pretty good and they had half price bottles of any wine from 6-7pm. Location is a bit east of the action of San Juan but we rented a car and got around just fine. Definitely a great experience and a nice vacation for all!

Room issue & pool uncleanliness
I was greeted with, "because I booked through your company I would have 2 rooms w/king size bed & cot." I told them I had addressed the need for 2 double beds & pool views w/ rooms next to each other for my party of 8 which was confirmed by your company. She proceeded to address me again with, "because I booked through your company that was their policy." Until I said that was unacceptable & proceeded to try & find my confirmation of room update did she go see what she could do. I ended up with 2 rooms near each other 1 with a pool view & 1 with an obstructed pool view as a huge palm plant was in windowview. Also the pool had mold & mildew all around on the pool tilework. I think this was actually worse than the room issue . It could be a health issue, there were so many children in the pool.

Fantastic get away with friends
The hotel was magnificent. I like going to different places every year, meaning I never visit the same place twice; however, this this place will be the exception to the rule.

My husband, I and our 2 children, (aged 8 and 11) just returned from The Ritz Carlton San Juan. I would recommend this property highly to anyone. The entire staff was eager to please, pleasant and accommodating in the best way (throughout the entire property). They went out of their way to address any concerns that we might have (and fix them ) asap! Our suite was recently remodeled with a fantastic view. Ask for a balcony or terrace (we wish we had). We spent our days by the pool, playing tennis and took a trip to the rainforest (through the hotels agency) and swam in the waterfall! I found 2 out of 3 concierge staff to be gracious with excelent service and thoughtful recommendations, (thus making up for the other). They do have a sitter service , not drop in.There is not a significant kids club presence with daily scheduled activities (like at the ritz carlton in maui, or four seasons costa rica). We are travelers that usually stay at 5 star properties (The Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, and St. Regis) and were quite pleased overall. We would definitely stay there again.

Ritz CArlton San Juan
My girl friend and I visitedany hotels in Puerto Rico and the Ritz was the nicest looming and cleanest. What is left to be desired is the location and staff. Perhaps most of Puerto Rico is like this bit next to the hotel is a dirty little sports bar with dirty swampy streets with trash on the ground and next to that is a little strip mall. The beach and pool and amenities do not make up for these short comings. Additionally the restaurants are not that good. The parking attendant was also rude and overly aggressive in one early morning situation.

Ritz Carlton San Juan
The hotel was amazing! However, upon check in the clerk tried to charge me an additional $30 for 2 double beds when my reservations indicated 2 double or king. I produced my printed reservations and she conceded. Upon check out, I noticed that I was still charged higher resort fees and taxes based on an upgrade that I did not receive. Other than that, I loved the hotel.
