Wonderful Trip

We were very happy with our stay at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was fantastic. We could walk wherever we wanted to in the city or take the trolly for free to different locations. Many nearby restaurants and historical attractions. If you want to spend more time on the beach, then this is probably not for you. We were more interested in the history and shopping. We will be returning to San Juan and the Sheraton will be our choice to stay.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel uses the public parking garage nearby for their valet parking service ($21/day). You can park the car yourself at the same garage (VERY short walk) for less than $13/day.

Cheap Hotel but Good Services

The hotel was a good value for the price; however, the walls were paper thin so there was nothing to control the noise. Our neighbors, who happened to be honeymooners were fighting the entire time and we could hear every single words they were saying. The service was great. They helped us print out the directions to everywhere we wanted to go. Overall, it was a good experience.

Great deal

Old San Juan is a small historic district. Old San Juan Sheraton is right on the coast at its heart. 50¢ ferry just across the street to see the Bacardi factory with tours and samples. You can walk to anywhere in the old city from there. 10's of small local restaurants with great food. Went with 20 yr old who enjoyed visiting the additional 20 small bars just blocks away(drinking age is 18). All the amenities of a first class hotel. Concierge very helpful and recommended tours that were outstanding. Zip lining at Toro Verde was great. The taxi's, tours etc, all knew the hotel. No beach nearby but for a few bucks we took a taxi to a great one. No real need to rent car. Taxis were expensive but cheaper than car rental and you don't have to hassle with confusing streets. 4th night stayed free deal through [...]made it a good deal especially with a first class free breakfast buffet.

Old San Juan Stay

Choose the hotel which is across the San Juan area tourist piers, area is clean and patrol frequently by local police. There is plently of bars and restaurant a few blocks away from the hotel, the hotel also has a "cassino". When I first walked into my room a strong odor, soap like, hit me. I complained to the front desk and said that the housekeeper would be checking it out. Waited a few minutes but needed to leave, do not now if they ever showed up. The next day told the front desk again about the odor and again was told that they would checked. Not knowing whether it was check or not I went to the local pharmacy and bought odor neutralizer. At my arrival at the hotel was told that they checked the room and that an "ozone" cleaning machine was use to neutralize the odor. The odor was still there, used my odor neutralizer. I bought a package deal that included breackfast at the hotel, great deal for it was a full breackfast with choice of eggs (scrambled, omelett),cereals, hot oat with choice of nuts, and various cerreals.

Not what I expected

Totally different from what it was online. $22.00 a night for parking !!! Plus a 7% or 11% a day for hotel charges that "were" not included in my package. End up checking out the next day and started looking for another hotel during my vacation I was so stressed out during my vacation time
