I had such a wonderful time at this hotel and in Puerto Rico is general, everyone who worked at the hotel went above and beyond... and the rooftop pool and couches are AMAZING :) and the location couldnt get any better. i enjoyed myself so much i already am thinking when i will be returning next!

trys way too hard
the hotel was ok...not worth it though, small little room, i hated the bathroom! sink was retarded, shower had no barrier to hold the water in....everytime u took a shower...there was a pool of water on the floor...drove me crazy!! staff was ok...lighting was kinda cool...tried a bit too hard to be trendy...

go see the historical sites...dont do the rainforest tour..it was weak and lame...not even a rainforest...it was more of a park, go horseback riding...

The pool area and the pool itself was not clean, the bar area wasn't the same as shown on the Internet. Everywhere you attempted to sit was either dirty or not stable on the floor. The people at the front desk were very courteous. The room was small, I thought it would be bigger as shown on the Internet and the bathroom was tiny.

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE
The hotel staff was very nice but the room was small. The bathroom was horrible. Very low water pressure. The floor in the bathroom kept getting wet and we always had to leave to towels on the floor because there was no real enclosure around the shower. There was nowhere to put cloths away. The fitness room was a joke. No more then 3 people could be in the room or it would be overcrowded. Although the hotel had a rooftop pool with a bar area which offered beautiful views of the city and beach I would not recomend staying at the hotel.

This was the worst hotel I,ve stayed in.It said it was a 3 star hotel but was a one star at best.

Too dark, too much blue!!
This hotel is not for the average person, looking for a relaxing vacation. The music is too loud everywhere. Once you step into the reception area the area begins to darken, When you step off the dark elevator with an open top view, you can't find your room for all of the dark hall lit with blue light only. The cold water and open shower creating a fall risk was the icing, but the goodies in the snack basket were the cherry on top. We quickly found another hotel, but were penalized a days stay. [...] Very time consuming. This hotel has a super location, but what a waste of a great space.

DON'T BOTHER GOING WASTE OF TIME AND OVE
THE ROOFTOP WAS CLOSED THE ELEVATOR WAS OUT OF SERVICE MOST OF THE TIME WE HAD TO WALK TO THE NINTH FLOOR THE HALLWAYS HAVE BLUE LIGHTS NICE ON PICTURES NOT IN REAL LIFE AND THE SINK HAS WATER SPILLING OUT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR REFRIGERATOR OR PAY $4 FOR A BOTTLE OF WARM WATER IN YOUR ROOM AND NO CLOSET SPACE AT ALL

worst hotel ever ruined my trip
says and showed that they have a rooftop pool and bar they do not it have been closed for years the staff sucked and over all experience was terrible rooms were nothing speical just a very simple place they had nothing not even a vending machine.... do not stay here

Not the El San Juan!!
We had a great time in Puerto Rico,but this hotel wasnt the best choice for staying 11 days. The maintenance was an issue. More than half of the things in our room didnt work. They were ripping out floors outside our room at 8:30am for several days without a warning. Staff was very polite, but very slow. We had to be moved to a different room for last 5 days of our stay and it didnt have a closet or a refrigerator(mini-bar). I think the Water Club is a great place to go have drinks,dance, and eat sushi. Other than than that the El San Juan or the intercontinential will receive our business next time back.

SAN JUAN LOVER
NICE HOTEL....BUT
I LOVED THE HOTEL AND THE VIEW WAS GORGEOUS...BUT WE DIDN'T HAVE HOT WATER FOR OUR ENTIRE STAY AND THE STAFF DIDN'T SEEM TO INTERESTED IN FIXING IT. FOR THE PRICE OF THE ROOM, I WAS EXPECTING TO HAVE HOT WATER AND MAYBE EVEN A JACUZZI. BASIC HOTEL ROOM....JUST VERY EXPENSIVE.

I wouldn't go here again!
We arrived 4 hours early to the hotel...We were told that the room will be ready in about 30 mins. They did not have the room ready for at least 3 hours!! When we arrived in our room - our view from our balcony was of a building, and right above the generators...we could not even go out on our balcony, and there was absolutly no view of the water! The women there seemed to have an additude with me anytime i needed something. This hotel offers free breakfast (limited to fruit, cereal, and toast) One morning we bought breakfast, french toast (to be precise) and it was COLD, COLD, COLD and it should have had chocolate syrup - when i asked the waitress' she just gave me a sample of regular syrup. There was not many advertisements to show what San Juan or the hotel had to offer. We had to just ask locals and guess. DO NOT ACCEPT A TOUR FROM HIGHLANDER TOURS - [...] - its a scam. We did however like [...], who delivered whatever we asked to the beach (and she was very helpful) The hotel was nice, but i would not return...we went to the intercontiental for a snoorkling and sailing tour - and wow the staff was great!!
