TRIP TO ISLA VERDE
I originally book this hotel based on all the great reviews. Upon arrival i was pleased with the look of lobby, but it did reek of liqour (possibly due to bar/rest on lobby level). My fiance and I checked in and made our way up to our room. As i was exhausted from my flight i sat on bed to find a pubic hair and sand on our sheets. I immediately called front desk and we were switched to another room. In our new room the view was a great ocean view (A+). As i went to unpack there were no dressers for my clothes only a small closet space with a few hangers. Also i had an iron in room but no ironing board, and when i did request an ironing board it was dirty looking and it was broken. As for the shower there was no shower curtain or door (thus causing a pool of water on floor everytime we showered)and the shower head only moved maybe a half an inch in ONE direction. In addition the ice machine on our floor was out of order for 4 of the 5 days we were there. I was disappointed with our stay there so we tried to spend our time on the beach most of the time or out shopping. I will admit that that the staff was very apologetic and seemed like very delightful people. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS U WANT TO SPENT ONLY ONE NIGHT PARTYING ON THE TERRACE AND WILL BE LEAVING NEXT MORNING.

Beautiful Hotel especially at night!!!
OMG, we arrived to The Water Club Hotel at night. I knew I was at the correct hotel when I saw the illuminating blue lights it was breathtaking as I walked in. You have to valet park and there's only one attendant for $20.00 a night but it was a very fast check in process and I love "What is your desire" Whatever you need they go out their way to get it for you, I think my husband called to see if there was something they couldn't do LOL. The room we had was small but well worth it. The down stairs restaurant is pricy but you can always go to other places to eat many to choose from. El San Juan Hotel has the best (seafood) restaurant on the island (well what I tasted) the beach is right across the street you can walk down to rent jet skis. There's a massage place on the street behind the hotel (you'll probably leave with a story LOL)or if it's your Desire:) you can let the clerk at the desk know and an appointment can be made for a room or balcony service. Very pleasant stay, first hour of happy hour was free A++. I could go on and on but I would recommend this hotel.

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE
The hotel staff was very nice but the room was small. The bathroom was horrible. Very low water pressure. The floor in the bathroom kept getting wet and we always had to leave to towels on the floor because there was no real enclosure around the shower. There was nowhere to put cloths away. The fitness room was a joke. No more then 3 people could be in the room or it would be overcrowded. Although the hotel had a rooftop pool with a bar area which offered beautiful views of the city and beach I would not recomend staying at the hotel.

Relaxation
Before leaving on my trip I read some bad reviews on this hotel. I must say I totally disagree with those people. The hotel was beautiful and peaceful. It was clean and refreshing. There's a gorgeous beach right in front of the hotel. The hotel bar is nice with great views of the beach. Although they have happy hour daily from 5-6 the drinks are not the best tasting. The doorman [...] is an angel. He gave us helpful information and we felt as though he was extended family. The service was great. The staff tries to cater to your every desire. Ilianna at the front desk was helpful in booking us a tour for a day at the last minute. There are lots of restraurants to eat at but the only down fall is that there are not a lot of Puerto Rican food restraurants to choose from. Mi casita is one of the only close Spanish food ones and although the food was good the serivce is unorganized. A little walk to the right of the hotel is a restraurant called bacchachina which was first class. The service is top of the line and the food and drinks awesome. The manager came by to welcome us and stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything wad fine which is was. My stay at puerto rico was made unforgettable. I'm telling you this hotel is great!!!!!!!!!

Short walk from hotel
Take the public bus A5 or C53 to Old San Juan it's only 75 cents per person and the view on the C53 bus is beautiful. I must warn you buses do not run frequently so make sure you add lots of waiting time for the bus. I personnally never waited to long but there were locals already waiting for an hour and change when I got there. They said that wad normal

Cute hotel with lots of extras
We went on this trip so that we could spend a few days at the beach and also get to see the city of San Juan. The hotel was nice and the staff was very welcoming. They had daily happy hour on the roof and guests could go to have free drinks. The beach was across the street and the hotel staff provided us with towels, beach chairs and umbrellas for no additional cost. In the mornings they also have free condtinental breakfast. It is close to many other hotels and many restaurants. Old San Juan is not far but you can take the city bus or a taxi./ The taxi runs you about $20 US. The city bus is about 75 cents each way. We took the bus that had a bus stop only a short distance away from the hotel. Overall our experience was very good at this hotel and also on this trip. The only negatives that I can think of are the noisy air conditioner in the room and the way the shower is designed caused a lot of water to drop on the bathroom floor which made it a bit of a mess.

If going to the city of Old San Juan..take the city bus..it is much cheaper than a taxi and drops you off inside the city!

Needs a good spritz of clorox
It could have been worse. This place is held up in travel literature as the "it" party spot and, while that may be true in February, during the off-season the atmosphere just comes off as stale. The whole place felt like a set for an "adult" movie. It's all white with electric blue lighting (yes, even in the rooms). The elevators include waterfalls, the hallways are quite dimly lit, and white curtains are hung on virtually every vertical surface. The beach was actually really good and, when you could get the attention of a staff member, they were very nice and accommodating. They have complimentary umbrellas and chairs. Now, for the problems: The sheets were visibly dirty upon arrival, the smoke from a neighbor wafted in every morning, and the pillows on the sunbeds on the roof deck had quite a coating of mildew. When we arrived, the doorman watched me unload three large bags from the cab and struggle up the stairs without helping. There were business cards from "escorts" left by the elevator in the morning and you definitely needed to take a shower upon exiting the plunge-pool on the roof. If you've got a sense of humor, this place is definitely worth a stop. We had a good laugh and met some interesting people. Nonetheless, I would not (and did not) spend my entire vacation here nor would I recommend this place to anyone with special needs or the particularly socially conservative.

Great place to stay! Unbeatable location
Great place to stay! Unbeatable location. Located in the middle of it all. The hotel is located on the most beautiful beach in Puerto Rico and not far away from the many points of attraction Puerto Rico has to offer. You feel like you are walking out into paradise as you step out of the hotel. Not only the outside of the hotel is beautiful though, its beautiful inside out. The inside of the hotel is beautiful as well. Staying at the San Juan Water Club definitaly maxemized my overall trip to Puerto Rico. I would highly recommend it to anyone and would definately stay there if I had to do it over again!
