When I was a this hotel I went to the beach at day and at night I went to a nice italian restaurant called Il Nono. Later that night I went to a nice bar at the beach! I will return to this hotel.

Great Location

I always stay at this hotel when I am in San Juan on business trip. The location is excellent and it just can't get better than this. Lovely roof top bar and pool area. Small hotel and amazing staff. It desperately needs a total make over and the new owners are it.

Great location and price!

My husband and I stayed one night following our cruise. The hotel decor was beautiful. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that we arrived at 11 am and did not get into our room until 4 pm. After our 7 day cruise, we were beat and ready to take a nap!

Average

The location is good. The lounge area and the swimming pool area were close for restoration and they don't tell you until you get there and the room is already paid for. The rooms are ok but the bathroom is tiny and the position of the beds rest a lot of space . The room is very clean and the service was very good.

Fantastic Hotel

This is the second time I have stayed here and will definitely not be the last. Even though I have my family on the island, I prefer to stay at the hotel. The best location at Isla Verde! Right on the beach and steps away from everything you could possibly need. Restaurants, gift shops, fast food, pharmacies and cab service. The best part is having the beach so close. That is pretty much what I did most of the day. The cabana boy [...] was very nice and helpful. Always set your chair and towel up on the beach with a smile and was always willing to go out of the way to make you comfortable. The only thing I have noticed is that the air conditioners are very weak in the rooms. Both times I have sayed I have found my room not to be cool enough, especially during the day when the sun is out. Perhaps not enough BTUs for the size of the room, but all in all it will not deter me from staying again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Alambique Bar/Grill has VERY GOOD and AUTHENTIC Puerto Rican food. I am Puerto Rican myself so I should know. I recommend the pork chops and the shrimp mofongo. The beers are always cold! They do take their time preparing the food, so be prepared to wait. But its worth it since you are getting it freshly made.

San Juan Water Club Review

The hotel is located within feet from the beach and water. There were great eateries within walking distance - not just typical fast food restaurants. The hotel's decor was just wonderful, light and yet had a modern feel with the white sheers and blue lighting. The rooftop was my favorite spot. During the day it was just a nice place to hang out but at night the bar opened and it was like a club right in the hotel. Our room was cleaned wonderfully everyday by the staff. The bartenders, restaurant and room service staff were friendly and willing to go out of their way to please. For an hour everyday there was a free cocktail hour with the local beer and any drink with Bacaradi available for free! Everyone was so helpful in finding us things to do and see everyday up to and including pointing us in the direction for the bus which only cost .$75 instead of a $20 cab! Old San Juan is within minutes via the bus and I highly recommend taking it instead of a cab. The beach was clean and beautiful and the staff made sure its guest had lounge chairs and fresh towels when needed. This was our first trip but we definitely plan to return very soon and stay at The Water Club.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Do not drink the hotel bottled water supplied to the rooms. Each bottle cost about $4-5 bucks and there is a walgreen's right across the street where you can get a case for about $3! We didn't find this out until the night before check-out when they conveniently put a little note with a few more bottles. Thankfully, we were out having too much of a good time to really drink too many of them. But we did drink about $12 worth of water - that's three bottles!
