Room are big and comfy only problem was checking in in the middle of the night and only one person working so the person was on a 30 min break and there was no one to assist had to wait in the car all that time when it was late and we wanted to rest.
Very old bldg, downstairs lobby area looks nice but the rooms are old. There was no free coffee or breakfast downstairs. The bed was a king size bed but not very comfortable. Overall it was a clean room but needed some renovations. Also I didn't
feel safe on the poolside area as an American traveling alone as there were a lot of men hanging around the pool area that seemed up to no good.
The price was right and the rooms were large, but the hotel was not maintained well. The lobby smelled like mold, the outside needed to be repainted and the chipped furniture in the rooms looked like something from a garage sale. Someone should be
hired to spruce up the place because it has potential. It is like the owner does not care about the property and is making money strictly off the location,
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Starbucks is nearby. I had a great cup of coffee at the nearby Subway of all places.
Right on the beach, great area with many restaurants/bars, spacious/affordable/clean rooms, excellent Wi-Fi, elevators are real fast, hotel pool overlooks the ocean, flat screen TV's with both PR as well as US channels, and more.
Experienced traveler who has lived in multiple countries as well as traveled the world and spends more time outside exploring instead of staying in the hotel.
The room was ugly; not friendly host staff; the elevator stop working and the door did not want to open... pay more and stay in a better hotel... a motel is better than San Juan Beach Hotel... sorry but it's real. :(
You're right next to the beach !!! The Chinese n Japanese restaurants were amazing ! Our rooms were upgraded immediately after problems with the shower plus the Louis Vuitton n Gucci store is 2 minutes away
