Really good getaway!

The hotel was fantastic. When we checked in, we were met by a barmaid with a wonderful free rum drink! The hotel had many attendants around the lobby area, all thin and handsome and providing a kind greeting. The pools, whirlpool, beach, bars overlooking the beach, etc., were all wonderful although the drink prices were steep. The beach was perfect, with 80 degree water temperature and folks that brought the unbrellas and lounge chairs out for us. Overall, I would rate this trip as a real bargain, and I really enjoyed the experience. With the package price and direct flights to/from Washington/Dulles, it made the whole trip a no-brainer. People at the office can't believe what a good deal this vacation was. And the people in San Juan were just so kind and helpful--they obviously understand the U.S. and what tourism is about!

Honeymooners

My husband and I stayed here for a few days for the final leg of our honeymoon. It was the perfect stop for some sun and sand and R&R. The hotel was very clean, staff are super friendly and it is right on the beach!

Buns burgers is right across the street from the hotel and it was delicious! They have burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fries, sodas, beer, wine and shakes. Everything is reasonably priced too. So yummy!

San Juan

Overall a great trip. The reviews we read pretty much sum it up. Good value, clean rooms nice beds, for a four star everything you would expect and maybe just a little more thanks to the staff. Food comes slow but if there is a problem they try to feed you everything in the kitchen at no charge and pronto so you are at ease waiting for your meal and still eating with the others. Only a couple of things to be advised of, pools are 4 foot max depth and If you use that Limo service from the airport to hotel ($80.00 us) be advised 3 person max.. Hmm we had four people, and as far as we knew we paid for four. They did mention that they were going to charge us extra but we ignored them. On the return ride we requested the standard van and once again they mentioned more money but we were never charged. Food at hotel tasty and expensive, the big huge lobster tails down the street past walmart were bigger and better than we could have imagined $69.00 bucks.. Watch out for the beach it is clean and neat but for kids I would say watch out for the rip and currents, they are strong.

Marriott Stellaris

The hotel was nice, but a little run down. Carpets were worn. Our biggest issue was the food was way over priced and the restaurant wasn't up to the same standards as other Marriotts. On the other hand, there were nice restaurants across the street that were cheaper and provided better food.

Fine overall, but......

I was checked in by Jenine, who was fabulous. The view from private balcony was excellent. Great food and drinks from Hotel's restaurant and bar. The downside of the stay was the atmosphere in the room itself. Damp and Humid to the point of being a bit "moldy" smelling. There was no ventilation system, not even an exhaust fan in the bathroom. No amount of Clorox or Lysol could vanquish the smell. Also, avoid elevators 1 and 2 which had a strong odor of urine each day.
