Nice for Puerto Rico!
Staff is very friendly and bed is comfortable. I prefer all-inclusive though. The drinks were very expensive and there is only two bars outside, so it is very slow getting a drink. Really, really slow!!! That might be a puerto rican thing rather than the hotel.

nice location
marriott was a very clean resort. the bathroom was so small you had to back up to the toilet to open the door. the pool was not made for swimming, but was very beautiful. there was no hottub, very disappointed! Resort staff was very pleasant to us, But not my daughter who called us from the states at 7PM-8PM-9PM because they did not know when we would be back for the evening. the telephone staff treated them badly. the puerto rico people are very friendly. they made a very memoriable trip for us. you could walk to nice restaurants from this motel. we even walked all the way to old san Juan. It took about an Hour. maybe 3 Miles.

Best Vacation Experience
This was one of the best vacation experiences I have ever had. The entire staff were so professional and always friendly. The customer service I received was so refreshing. Phenomenal pools for adults and kids. The wading pool is about 1-2 feet deep and perfect for little ones as well as adults who just want to cool off. The slide was a lot of fun too. The game room only has about 8 games and is geared more toward teenagers. The drinks from the pool and beach bar were amazing. Poolside bar/food service was decadent and well worth it. I could have stayed inside the resort all week, either on my balcony, near the pool, or on the "front lawn" of the hotel, which was a very clean, safe and secure, beach. The fitness club was great with ample machines, but busy times were between 9-10 in the morning where I had to wait about 10 minutes for the eliptical. Spa services were top rate and worth the price. The lunch buffet was not kid oriented(no mac and cheese, pb & J, finger food) inside the La Vista restaurant, but it had delicious adult entrees for a moderate price. San Juan is about a 15 minute cab ride away and every cab driver was friendly and honest and never overcharged. This was my first trip to PR and it won't be my last. This Marriott far exceeded my expectations and I didn't even set foot inside the casino. If checking out on a Sunday, best to give yourself extra time to wait for elevator and wait time at the front desk.

The green trolly in Old San Juan takes you around the Old city for free. Only drawback was wait times for trolley could be anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes, so it is sporadic and seating is limited.

Glorious winter getaway!
The tour desk was very helpful in keeping us busy. Housekeeping staff was first class. Only problem is if you are single and traveling with children, an all-inclusive might be better. Otherwise, it was both, restful, and fun-filled. Be sure to take advantage of the many excursions!

Good Service, courteous staff
We enjoyed our stay here, and I would book this hotel again, if I wanted to stay in the city of San Juan. Great location. We were 3 ladies and felt very safe there. There was a problem with our reservation but it was cleared up quickly and to our satisfaction. Apparently, a fire code prevented us from putting a roll-away in a double room. We ended up upgrading to a King jr suite with a sleeper sofa for only $25 more! Plus we got an ocean view that was superb! One more thing might have made it perfect: I would have liked the pool to have more sun in the afternoon; it was mostly shady. Also, don't book your tours through the tour company at the Marriott. It wasn't that great and it was more expensive than some of the other tour companies.

We booked a tour to do the night kayaking, through the tour group in the hotel lobby. They were not that great because the man who drove the van was the worst guide I have ever had. But the trip itself is not to be missed! Also, Eco Tours is cheaper but they ended up leaving 3 of us at the beach and forgot to tell us the pick up time. So always carry your cell phone wherever you go!

Couples Vacation
The hotel was great! Very clean and enjoyable. I did, however, think everything was WAY overpriced. We could not eat or drink at the hotel because everything costed WAY too much.

Great place to stay
Have been to San Juan numerous times. We came in early for a cruse that departed on April 5 in order to send time with family and friends who live in Puerto Rico, consequently we sent most of our time socializing and visiting. San Juan is a great eating city and we enjoyed two or three meals a day at various restaurants around town. There was also time to lay around the pool and relax with a cool one.

Fantastic!
The staff was very friendly. The concierge was very helpful with tour and restaurant suggestions. The cocktail and chair/umbrella services on the beach were great, although drinks were rather expensive, but they don't have a problem with guests bringing their own drinks down from the room. There is a convenience store within walking distance that sells food and drinks. The casino was small, but the staff was fun and friendly. My only complaint was that on the weekend nights, the casino was really crowded with locals, many of which were not very friendly to non-Spanish speakers. The resort's location is convenient to many things. There are many good restaurants within walking distance. I recommend Jam. It was amazing. Old San Juan is just a short cab ride ($15). Cabs are always available in front of the hotel. Also, many tours are offered through the hotel tour desk and pick up directly from the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay there again.

Marmalade in Old San Juan is one of the best restaurants I have ever dined in. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. Be sure to try their 11 course tasting menu. It was wonderful. The chef even came out to our table and offered us suggestions for the rest of our stay in San Juan.
