Excellent choice!
La Concha is a great location on the Condada beach in San Juan. The rooms were large with a nice size bathroom, robes etc. We had an incredible ocean view. The three pool areas were all infinity, one looking over the ocean, very relaxing, the service was excellent. The hotel staff was attentive and security was visible at the beach. I would describe the interior of the hotel as cool and current. The central bar was a continental breakfast by morning, but a hip fun location at night. Shopping; designer stores across the street, Gucci, Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton. La Pearl restaurant, one of several in the hotel, was 5 Star in our books, excellent food and beautiful, looked like the interior of a shell. Fitness; large, well equipped, overlooking the ocean. This hotel was quiet and less crowded than some of the others that had the jet skiing and activities. We were able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, but go to another hotel for the water activities. Old San Juan shopping seemed to cater to the cruise lines, but had some excellent restaurants. We did the half day tour through the Yunque Rainforest, which was 6+ hours and could have easily been cut down to 3. The hike to the waterfall was WAY too long (40 minutes) and once there, very crowded, then had to hike back. The tour included a stop for lunch at a disgusting roadside venue, with starving dogs wandering inside. Our family is well traveled and would certainly stay at La Concha again.

Great spring break trip
We went on spring break but this hotel was perfect, not crowded. The back wall of the room completely opened up to look down on the ocean. This was wonderful in the mornings and evenings. There were ample chairs and palm trees for shade on the beach and around the pool. It has three pools and two hot tubs. Also several little intimate areas to sit and relax. The pool furniture was thick white cushions. The location was 10 min from airport and old San Juan (either on was a $14-19 taxi)very reasonable. The people were very friendly. Shopping and several very good resturants within one or two blocks. We liked Budathai across the street by Louis Vitton store. There are 4 resturants in the hotel and all had pretty good food. They also have a kids menu that ranged from $8-14. There was a Wendy's next door (we did not eat here but it would be convienint if you wanted). There is also a Walgren's about 2 blocks away to pick up sunscreen and snacks. We visited the rainforest...a pretty good hike but well worth it to see the waterfall at the bottom. We spent from 11:oo till 1:30 going through it. I would stay at this hotel again. We really liked the relaxed atmosphere. There are no kids clubs or designated kid activities, but we were not looking for this anyway. We had a great time here and definitly recommend it.

Not worth the price
Not worth the price. One night the music, noise, and conversations were so loud that we were unable to sleep until the party finished at 1:30PM. This is not a place you would choose for quiet or resting!

La Concha a solid choice in Condado
Traveled with husband and 15 month old; loved the two level pool and the semi-private beach. Condado Beach met our needs, although I think some people would have been disappointed with some of the unsightly vacant buildings a ways down Condado beach from our hotel (our beach was lovely), but there were plenty of restaurant options and the La Concha resort served us well. Beautiful views from rooms; only complaint is a slight musty smell in the otherwise pristine clean and modern rooms.

Right next door to the La Concha was a great Italian restaurant ??? de Parma that had great pizzas and outdoor seating and was right next to a open grassy park area that our 15 month old could run around in when he was tired of sitting at the dinner table

Fantastic Condado Hotel
My 22yr old daughter and I take a trip together every year and chose La Concha based on the reviews. It did not dissappoint. The hotel has a beautiful, modern decor, including the lobby and poolside areas with comfortable white cushioned seating throughout. Our room had a mini balcony with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and one of the pools. We had a delicious dinner of skirt steak and mahi-mahi at the hotel restaurant, La Perla, but our favorite meals by far were sitting poolside and having gourmet lunches such as duck quesadillas, succulent tuna steak sandwiches, and the La Concha Burger. Not to mention the perfect Passion Fruit Mojitos at poolside and served to us on the beach by the lovely hotel staff. It was very convenient being only 10 minutes from Old San Juan by taxi, about $20.00 including tip, one way, or as we did one afternoon by 75cent bus, about 20 min without traffic. All the staff that we dealt with were courteous and helpful. This was by far our favorite trip and we look forward to our next trip to La Concha. It is highly recommended.

Incredible Place to Stay!!!!
The location was incredible. I couldn't have asked for a better first stay in San Juan. The employees were phenomena, the bartenders rocked(!!!!), and I had the best mojito's in the lobby. La Concha is definitely for someone who tends to be a night owl as well. It can be a little noisy with the band at night, but it's a blast. I'd stay there anytime! There are several great restaurants within just a block or two of the resort.

Make sure you have the cab driver start the meter if you're not driving. They try to charge all gringo's $16 whether you are going 5 blocks or 50.

Excellent Hotel
The LaConcha is a wonderful hotel, conveniently located with top notch service all the way. The pools are beautiful, the beach is somewhat small but nicely kept. You can tell they are constantly working to keep the facilities well maintained and spotless. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It's not a cheap trip but well worth the money. The food is excellent as are their mojitos. This place is NOT for children and one of the reasons I liked it so well. There were very few children here and that's the way I like to travel.

Ok for short stay
Looks to have been beautiful at one time now a bit run down but good for price and location. The way the beach sits allows for garbage/plastic to be gathered in swimming location. Pool too noisy with too many children - would have been better with an adults only pool.
