Sleek San Juan hotel on Condado Beach with a floating restaurant
Everything about La Concha flows -- from its landmark seashell-shaped restaurant, to its open air lobby and its sleekly appointed rooms. A warm ocean breeze drifts through the wall-less lobby where the white marble, neon green lights and white leather seating is the epitome of modern-tropical chic. The flow continues outdoors where the infinity pool appears to drop right into the Atlantic.

Highlights
  • The golden sands of Condado Beach just footsteps away
  • Located on trendy Ashford Avenue, a shopping mecca
  • Floating, seashell-shaped Perla Restaurant
  • Huge on-site casino
Rooms

La Concha's "habitats," as they're called, are bright and contemporary with crisp white linens, bedspreads in vivid colors and striking underwater photos. Comfort reigns with deluxe pillow-top beds, fuzzy bathrobes and walk-in spa-style showers. All of the spacious 248 rooms look out over the picture-perfect pool area or the azure Atlantic. Rooms have high-speed Internet.

Dining

There are several on-site dining options at La Concha including the landmark Perla. The high-end seafood restaurant is situated in a floating, shell-shaped pod (dinner only). Solera is open for lunch and dinner and serves tasty tapas. The dinner-only Komakai has Asian fare, including a sushi bar. There are paninis, salads and more at the Sidewalk Cafe, open for lunch and dinner. The Lobby Bar serves drinks and a light menu for lunch and dinner. Level 25 serves a hearty American breakfast, and Aroma offers light breakfast bites on the go.

Entertainment

The Casino del Mar at La Concha is 15,000 square feet of excitement and chance, open 24 hours. Receive complimentary cocktails at gaming tables and slot machines.

Recreation

La Concha has a playful side. Condado Beach, renowned as one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful strips of sand, is right out front. There are four pools and a whirlpool for frolicking. The fitness center is free.

Best Birthday Vacation

I traveled to San Juan, PR for the first time for my birthday and WOW was I blown away by La Concha Renaissance Resort. I hadn't done too much research on the property and relied on word of mouth before booking. First off the pictures don't quite do this place justice. It's HUGE. There are so many lounge areas, four pools and its beachfront. Perfect to lay out all day. The atmosphere is wonderful as there is always a cool crowd of locals and tourists in the lobby. There is a casino on site (I visited and won $65 in the slot machine) also varied restaurants and no shortage of bars. I only ate at Solera and Voga, and in my opinion Voga isn't the best cuisine or worth the price. Try a few other local eateries - there are so many offering cuisine ranging from Indian, Chinese, Italian and of course authentic Puerto Rican !. The staff was fantastic although checking in was a little lengthy. I requested a room upgrade (well worth the $30 a night for ocean view with a balcony) so that might be why. Overall no complaints whatsoever about this hotel ... the only downside was the resort fee and $300 incidental hold placed on my credit card on check in. I recommend a visit here and I can't wait to return !.

Amazing View!

We spent one night here post cruise. The staff was very friendly! We were able to check in early and the concierge was full of ideas for the last day of our vacation. We didn’t really use the hotel amenities (i.e. pool, restaurants), but everything looked great! Wish we could have stayed longer.

There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel which means a 75 cent quick trip to Old San Juan. Far better than the $15+ taxi ride!

Great for everyone

La Concha had everything that we could've asked for. In fact, while we had planned to take little excursions during our time in San Juan, we ended up spending almost all our time at La Concha because it truly had everything we needed! It's situated right on the beach, perfect for sunbathing, boogie boarding, and beginner surfers! It's also just a quick cab ride away from Old San Juan, and there are taxis lined up in front of the hotel at any given time. When we arrived, we found out that our room, though facing the ocean, didn't have the balcony, but upon requesting one, the people at the front desk quickly upgraded us without any problem. The room was beautiful and spacious and had a perfectly modern/beach-y feel, just like the rest of the hotel. We made a routine out of afternoon cocktails by the pool with guacamole and chips from Solera. Breakfast at Voga was okay, nothing special, but if you sit on the ocean side of the restaurant you'll get beautiful views. The staff in general were so friendly and accommodating and were always there to answer questions or serve. We could not have asked for a better vacation and we wish we could've stayed longer! We also loved that the hotel was filled with all sorts of people: families, singles, friends, couples, etc.

Nice hotel but overrated

We stayed at La Concha over new years eve this year. While the hotel seemed trendy, and had a lot going on, it wasn't nearly worth the $400/night price. The rooms were average size, and the only redeeming feature was the mini kitchen that had a stovetop/microwave/freezer/fridge, etc. We bought tons of snacks and breakfast for every morning to save money. There are three pools, but two of them get zero sun. literally zero. They're fun for a nighttime dip, but have no purpose during the day. As a result the main pool gets filled up quickly and getting a seat was difficult. Overall, I would stay again but only if the price was 1/2 as much as we spent during the busy time period of new years/christmas.

There is a walgreens just 2 blocks away. Buy all the snacks and drinks you want and store in your room. It's a big store complete with everything you might have forgotten to bring with you.

Very Modern, Clean Hotel

The hotel was very nice and modern. We were very impressed with the decor. I would most definitely stay there again and recommed it to others going to San Juan. The prices for food and drinks are fairly expensive, as expected with most hotels. Luckily there are lots of eating places within walking distance. My only complaint would be the resort fees of about $20 per day and that if you are traveling with friends, this website will book you into a room with only a King bed.

Fantastic Resort

La Concha is an excellent Beach Resort on Ashford Ave. The resort has a very modern up to date look. I stayed in one of the ocean front beach Suites which had just about every amenity that you could possible want. Full kitchen, living room separate bedroom towards the back with a wonderful ocean view off of the balcony. The resort itself has several excellent restaurants on site, several pools, gym, casino with all the major table games and slots. Resort staff was excellent from the moment that you arrive until the moment that you leave. They were always available to assist in anyway possible. The resort is within walking distance to several great restaurants, shops and bars. A short distance from the airport about 15min and also very close to old San Juan about 15min also. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great stay in Puerto Rico.
